Division title
Saints go 10-7; Bucs go 9-8. We don't think they all keep their jobs? In that scenario I imagine it's "how'd we get here?" Mostly defensive type wins or did Baker have a pretty good year?
That scenario gives me nightmares.
At 9-8 under Baker Mayfield this season we would then be in QB purgatory.
Good enough to keep us from a rookie QBOTF. Bad enough to keep us out of playoffs. Good enough to get resigned and keep us mediocre.
Barf
Our hope for this season to have a very clear direction on who our QB should be next season and why. Trask or Baker completely light it up, or completely crap the bed. Not “oh we went 9-8 i guess baker could have potential…”

We'll see how it shakes out, but a division title is a realistic goal for this team.

Let's say he has Geno Smith's 2022. Over 4,000 yards. 30 TDs. Bucs go 9-8 and make a wild card game.

Barring some miracle, no way I see them winning 9 games this season.
Schedule isn't tough. Division isn't great. Defense should still be good. Can the new offense gel quick enough to be better than last year's, which was awful (25th in points)? Yeah, why not?
9-8 or better and winning the division is a realistic goal. If that happens Baker probably gets extended, imo.

We'll see, but I just don't see it happening. The good news is that I suck at prognostication.

The worst possible scenario is any* that extends our time with this doomed regime, including Baker.
* - Yeah, herp a derp, what if we win the Superbowl derp

This doomed regime could have back to back division titles in about six months.
I'm not hating on playoffs every year. Act like you've been here before.

31 teams don’t win the Super Bowl. Should they all reset?
How is a playoff berth and division title a worst case scenario? Good grief.
Baker playing well is a best case scenario. Isn’t it?

There are too many variables and unknowns right now to call it a realistic outcome, but it’s a realistic goal.
I personally think it would be kind of nice to feel settled at the QB position with a young former #1 overall pick.
Doesn’t everyone hope Baker plays well? I’m not sure if we’re just assuming he’ll fail or if some of you actually want him to.

The bad teams that haven't reset already should absolutely reset.
The worst case scenario is one where we're no closer to contending for a title, but mediocre enough that we keep the people responsible for not contending for a title. Because it takes one year of not winning a title and ensures multiple future years as well.

Maybe I'm a Homer, but I think our OC is going to make our offense look a lot better than last year even with Brady at the helm. If our DEF can play PAR Golf, I think 9 wins is on the table. With an elite QB it would be more, but we know what we have and for the first time, in a long time, I think we can actually win because of coaching......

Genuinely curious what you thought the Eagles should have done last off-season after we trounced them from the playoffs.

Stayed the course? Why wouldn't they?
If, after I've posted a thousand times on this, people think I want to tear down every roster that doesn't win a Superbowl that year, I'm genuinely embarrassed by the time I've spent trying to intelligently discuss the issue.

So you want to clear out the regime that actually DID just win a title?

Who do you mean by "regime?" Arians? Yes. Having a powerful figure with an undefined role floating around the building is bad management in any team-building scenario. Bowles? Absolutely. He's a horrible coach. We know this. Licht? I do, because I have zero faith he can do it again, and more importantly, I think he knows he probably won't get 7 years like he did last time to try. But at the same time, I understand there's a good argument the other way.

Yes? That’s the regime. Literally. They just won a title and gave us the best two years of football we’ve ever seen. Maybe trust they’re not completely incompetent?

Tom Brady gave us that.
The team prompted returned to mediocre after he left.
And where’d he come from? A brilliant regime, right? And a whole lot of other regimes who thought he was DONE. You know who didn’t think that? This regime.

The regime has missed on every QB outside of the best player in history.

How many words would you use to describe last season's coaching and preparation before you'd get to "incompetent?"
