Tampa Bay vs Dallas Game Day Thread - Season Kickoff Addition

Post by Rocker »

Kickoff scheduled for 8:20 PM, with Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth in the booth. Here’s to an absolute ass kicking of “America’s Team” and no injuries.

I keep thinking of Warren Sapp doing his "OOOOOHHHH!!!! OOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!" thing to John Lynch before the Superbowl kicked off. That's my energy right now. Gonna be a long 14 hours.

Let's roll another joint
And let's head on down the road
There's somewhere I got to go..."

We've been waiting for this day for a long time.

Hanging another SB Championship banner at RayJay while we officially start the 'go for two' season with what is on paper the best Bucs team ever assembled.

Should be a great season for the fans. Let's enjoy the ride.

If our 8 game winning streak that culminated in a SB Victori is truly who this team is, Dallas should be completely destroyed by us.
tl:dr version: We lose tonight, the season is doomed.

Yes. Completely disregarding how good the Cowboys offense was before Dak went out and that it's a completely new season.

We have no idea how Dallas or the Bucs will play, but as the Patriots routinely showed us, early season success or failure means very little.

Bill/Brady spent years treating the first 3-5 games like the real preseason, but that won't stop Lugz from Lugzing.

Yep. Exactly my point (in an off-hand way, of course). Look how we started last year. How'd that end up?

That's like the most pessimistic version of our team is good ever. No wonder why you are so miserable about football.

Haven’t been this excited for a Bucs game in a long time.

Absence really does make the heart founder.

Also, Cowboy fans are the easiest to talk shit to in the NFL. Nearly rearended a cowboys fan at Wendy’s the other night to assert dominance.

Cowboys missing their best player. An interior lineman. Vea gonna dominate. Will free up JPP for big plays. Brady will put us up 2 TDs going into halftime. Then Bowles will bring heat with White and LVD.

Fun times inbound.

You saw my username and went on attack mode for no reason whatsoever. I literally said we should destroy the Cowboys. If that's not an endorsement of our team, then idk what the fuck is.

In fact your post sounds more pessimistic than mine.
I didn't even respond to you until you responded to me.

You really don't see how a comment from you like "We should destroy the Cowboys" is taken...or the other post about "We'll see how prepared we are"?

Many think this could be a close game, but win or lose that doesn't mean doom for this team.

It's a long season, stop setting yourself up to be so depressed. Football is supposed to be enjoyable.

The oddmakers have this game as one of the biggest spreads for all of the week 1 action.

It's the NFL and week 1 so anything can happen of course, but I don't think it will be close.

Dak is a really good QB and their weapons are legit on offense, but it's asking alot for Dak and that offense to just flip a switch and be able to meet the intensity and speed of the game when he's been so limited in practice this TC after missing so much time last year.

I think the Cowboys will be fine this season if they can stay healthy, but I'd be very impressed if they come out hot early in the season given the challenges they've had in training camp w/ Dak, Covid issues, etc.

We'll see, but I think that's why the spread has increased in the past few days. Nobody is putting money on Dallas so they are trying to artificially generate some action.

Cowboys being 8.5pt underdogs week 1 says something about the state of that time.

I predict us to win, but thinking we won't would be some damning thing about this team isn't good is absurd. Shit happens, especially early in the season.

One thing I’m hoping for - and Dread mentioned it as BZ - is how ahead of schedule the offense should be compared to week 1 last year. We know how well Brady has these guys prepared. I’m expecting a 35+ spot from the O.

Does Dallas have a strong jersey presence in Raymond James? It will be the lowest count ever and the Buc fans will be too much for Dallas to overcome.

For sure. I'd love to win tonight just to get the weekend started right and kickoff the season the right way.

But tbh, I hope we actually lose a game or two early. Being undefeated into second half of the season will be fun to track and fans will embrace it, but might not be ideal for the ultimate goal of winning another Super Bowl.

Essentially I don't want too peak early (OOCA).

Cowpokes always travel well and Tampa is a hotbed of people who didn't grow up here. So there will be Cowboy fans at RayJay tonight.

But it won't be anything like what it's been for the past decade in terms of visiting fans. The two preseason games this season were more electric than almost any Bucs game I attended from 2013-2019 except maybe that game we beat the Seahawks in 2016.

Ray Jay will be rockin this year.
