All-time favorite NFL player... Bucs and otherwise.
All-time favorite NFL player... Bucs and otherwise.
Favorite Buc: Joe Jurevicius. Gained mad respect for him after his performance in our first SB run, especially during the NFCCG against the Eagles. He also made the all-time highlight reel opening the Linc with the tip/catch.
I gotta say, AWJ is quickly becoming my "new" guy.
Favorite overall player: Dave Kreig (Sqwawks). Just fun to watch... Accurate as hell.

Favorite Bucs are Derrick Brooks and Warrick Dunn. I just wish they didn't attend that cheating ass college. Lot's of respect for how they represented the Bucs off the field being the outstanding humans they were/are while being great players on Sunday.
Strictly from a on-field perspective my favorite players all time were Dan Marino and Ray Lewis.

And then there is Ronnie Lott, who famously had his broken pinkie finger amputated in April 1986 to avoid the long recovery time that would have followed reconstructive surgery. ... "I was trying to laugh it off, but I felt sick,” he told the AP in 1986 of first seeing the nub.

Too hard for me to pick a favorite individual Buc... Gruber, Batman, Selmon, Brooks, Lynch.....All had their own special qualities. But the one that coulda, shoulda, woulda, given a better opportunity was Gruber.
Mike Singletary.

Impossible for me to pick just one, but Lee Roy is up near the top.

Favorite Buc: Derrick Brooks.. really rep'd FSU and one of the reasons I'm a bucs fan. (Dexter Jackson, Warrick Dunn, Brad Johnson are the other reasons)
Favorite Player: Boldin.. loved him because he was just so damn good.. was considered the #2 WR at AZ but put up #1 fantasy numbers at a fraction of the draft price.

Godwin is a darkhorse for me if he stays with the Bucs. He plays so fucking hard. He’s like a pinball out there just bouncing off dudes.

Bucs : Barber / Lynch / Brooks .. Had all three jerseys (had others). Lynch was the nicest, Sapp is in the list, but I only wanted to list three.
NFL: Favre / Sanders .. I have to admit I was in awe EVERY single season they came to town.
NFL (as a kid): Chris Hanburger, Fran Tarkenton, Sonny Jergunsen/Billy Kilmer

That's a good list. I enjoyed watching all those guys play. Well, except Hanburger. Without looking it up, the name sounds slightly familiar, but it's not recognition like the others in your list. Not even close.Crocaneers wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 4:50 pm Bucs : Barber / Lynch / Brooks .. Had all three jerseys (had others). Re: All-time favorite NFL player... Bucs and otherwise.
Favorite Buc: James Wilder--he just couldn't be stopped even though the defense knew the Bucs had zero other weapons. He was incredible to watch.
Favorite NFL: Dan Marino and Barry Sanders. Got to see both of them at different times in old Tampa Stadium. Bucs played Miami every year in preseason, and there would be a hundred buses lined up to entrance of stadium(spewing diesel fumes). Marino just flicked the ball wherever he felt like it, Sanders was just incredibly elusive, he couldn't be caught using a fishing net.

Career Redskin Linebacker. Him and Mark Moseley (last NFL straight on kicker) .. were favs of Dad's. We met Chris years ago, and it was a fantastic memory. Bucs: Lynch (hometown legend), maybe Alstott. Their big hits on both sides of the ball was what first got me excited about the Bucs
NFL: Rivers/Brady. We love Rivers here in SD but it's hard to place him above Brady these days

Favorite Buc? Probably Derrick Brooks, but it's a close race.
Favorite non-Buc? Jerry Rice.
Wanna know my favorite Jerry Rice stat? Check out the list of NFL career receiving yardage after turning age 40:
First place - Jerry Rice - 2509 yards
Second place - Tom Brady - 6 yards
Third place - Brett Favre - Negative 2 yards

He was a Freshman when I was a Senior. I remember watching him play that year. Then the Bucs drafted him the year after I moved here. He’s the reason I became a Bucs fan.0-26 Survivor wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 7:55 pmWent out the other day and was wearing my black Purdue Alstott jersey.
