Currently watching Bucs game but Just looked at the score, FSU is winning by the score of 40-7 against cupcake team
Next week they play LSU.. ouch
I like FSU this year, but that's tough sledding because "neutral site" my ass. It's an LSU home game, but I still think FSU pulls it off. I hate myself for saying it, but Go Noles!
Has LSU fallen that far or has FSU finally bounced back?
I'm expecting LSU to have it wrapped up by the half.
It’s Brian Kelly’s first season at LSU. It’s gonna take 2-3 seasons before they’re really rolling. They’ve fired their last two coaches. Both won at least 1 NC. Last three LSU coaches have won NC’s. Saban left for Miami in 04.
The landscape has changed with a NIL and transfer portal. But I still expect Kelly to win at least one.

Tell me why it won't be (1) Ohio State, (2) Alabama, (3) Clemson, (4) Georgia.
I can only speak to Ohio State worst case scenario.
Their defense isn’t ready. They brought in Jim Knowles as their new DC this season. Entire scheme change on that side. Should be better, but it may not be enough soon enough.
OSU could lose to a more physical Michigan again and Michigan lose’s to MSU or something and that’s enough to get UM in the playoff.

Clemson worst case scenario is the QB situation. The defense is going to be straight up nasty, but they're going to start with Uiagalelei at QB. I just hope it doesn't take a loss for them to switch to Klubnik.

Because Ohio State is gonna lose the Big Ten to Michigan again, of course.
Bama will be in the playoffs until Saban retires, so them being at least in the top four is a given for me.
Clemson aren't the powerhouse they used to be. They finished third in their conference last year behind Pitt and Wake Forest; hardly encouraging news for Clemson fans.
Georgia won the Natty last year because of their historically good defense, and that unit lost five first rounders to the NFL draft. Indeed, fifteen Bulldogs got drafted this spring, the most players from any one team in a single draft. That's a lot of experience and reps they have to replace in a tough conference.

Anybody sneaky good this year?
Kentucky is ranked #20, so idk if I’d call them “sneaky good.” That said, Vegas has their win over/under at 7.5 when I last checked. I think they cover that and have an outside shot at 10. If they beat Florida in week 2, they could go on a run. Three of their first four games should be gimmies.

I beg to differ.. if Tennessee beat both Florida and Georgia, they’re good enough to win the East. Kentucky?? I think it’s fluke

Very possible. UT’s HC Heupel is only in year 2, but expectations are pretty high already. They are a very fickle, and perhaps delusional, fan base.

LSU got the transfer portal QB they wanted, and no one has game film on them. They got to see what FSU does. I like our chances.
There's years of film on what the head coach likes to do, too.
I expect a good game, but of course I'll be fan first and a critic second.
If the Noles crush the Tigers, well... I remember many years ago going on a road trip from the campus to Texas A&M for the season opener. We got stomped 45-6. It happens. Still a fan.
Fun filled weekend coming up ... Hugh Freeze heads "home" to his alma mater Southern Miss. With Willis gone, QB1 will be a tough overhaul. The portal has helped a lot of schools, and seeing Charlie Brewer (Baylor/ Utah) take the helm will be fun. There is a stock of QBs, so should he slip next man up.
Watching the rise of G5 is a lot more fun than the P5 slugfest of the past for me.
Not used to it, and don’t really like having the Utes so hyped up this year. But if Rising can continue to get better, they always have good defense and trenches. Smart people say they are the easy P12 favorite and a playoff contender. So I’m all in, even if a disappointing season seems more likely than a playoff berth. But that’s why they play. Should be a good team. A win in the Swamp would be an awesome way to start the year. I know plenty around here will be watching that one from the other side. Hoping for a good game and season.

Are you watching the backyard brawl? Good game so far.
Hendon Hooker is one of the top returning quarterbacks in college football for 2022.
After a huge first-year in Josh Heupel’s offense, Hooker is set to have a huge second season for the Vols fast-paced offense. And his first half start against Ball State certainly didn’t do anything to temper those expectations.
Hooker has combined for 3 touchdowns at the break. The Vols quarterback has connected on 16-of-22 for 201 yards. Hooker hit Jalin Hyatt on a 23-touchdown pass on the Vols first offensive play from scrimmage.

Maybe the 2021 thread gets untagged and this one can take its place. I don’t imagine it’s a difficult thing to do.
I think Brent Venables is the real deal. Looks like such a great fit at OU. He’s recruiting fantastically and the vibe around the program is pretty good, all things considered.
