Ray Jay did Bucs fans a solid yesterday
They put the 49ers/Rams game on at the end so a few thousand Bucs fans could stick around and cheer on the Niners. And what an ending that turned out to be.

But they also did not show any updates on that game until our score was 41-17 in the 4th Q. Like nothing, zilch, zero, nada.Defense5599 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 9:01 am They put the 49ers/Rams game on at the end so a few thousand Bucs fans could stick around and cheer on the Niners. I've always felt that was a stupid, self-serving thing to do by head coaches.acmillis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 11:55 amBut they also did not show any updates on that game until our score was 41-17 in the 4th Q. "Look at me. I have the power to keep scores off of the scoreboard because my team of grown men can't focus on their own business".
Re: Ray Jay did Bucs fans a solid yesterday
Meh, Coaches want their team focused on the task at hand. Part of a coaches job is to mitigate any potential distractions. The GOAT coach ever (Belichick) is a master of mitigating distractions.King Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 12:00 pmI've always felt that was a stupid, self-serving thing to do by head coaches.

I don't think it's a power move as you characterize, atleast not with all coaches. Their doing their job imo.

It's more about eliminating distractions as opposed to a power trip. I've seen it done all the time, in the NFL, the NBA and even college footballKing Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 12:00 pmI've always felt that was a stupid, self-serving thing to do by head coaches.

Maybe because it's Sean Payton but I recall it being made into such a big deal that he had all of the score boards turned off. Like who the fuck do you think you are. I could see him doing it and being smug about it.Dread wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 12:14 pmMeh, Coaches want their team focused on the task at hand. In today's world, if the players want to know, they will know.

Or they are wireless-only models and the team controls the wireless network.

There was one point in the game where BA was telling Brady about the Rams/49ers score, I thought.Dread wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 12:14 pmMeh, Coaches want their team focused on the task at hand. That likely confirms that they can't simply see the scores on their tablets.King Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 2:29 pmHe diduscbucsfan wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 2:27 pm

This production is not authorized for rebroadcast without the express written consent of the NFL .Defense5599 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 9:01 am They put the 49ers/Rams game on at the end so a few thousand Bucs fans could stick around and cheer on the Niners. And what an ending that turned out to be.

You think they can just browse whatever they want when they're looking at them?

I doubt it. Coaches are all over the place. If they aren't looking at something that's related to the game, they will be stopped right away. Plus, don't you have to connect them to WiFi which might not be available on the sidelines?

Yea, it was slightly annoying to check my phone occasionally for the score. All the other scores and highlights were there, even Redzone was on Pre-game which was nice.

I didn't have to check anything. While sipping beer in my man cave, I would flip to the Rams/Niners during commercials.

Classy.
Avoid the congestion leaving, watch your team get the #2 seed, and celebrate as a crowd before that last push to the exits.
Very nice.
