Re: Vita Vea: Paid
That's amazing! Vita definitely got big bucks and he deserves it. 1 less thing to worry about in the offseason and for the foreseeable future.
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Wonder what the guaranteed amount is
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
He’s now here through the 2026 season, Nice.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Freaking sweet. Love it
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Neato, now draft him some help.
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
An easy decision. Well deserved and well earned. Look forward to him being here for the foreseeable future.
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
The man. No doubt. Got it done. I look forward to at least another 5 years here.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Hype!!!
Now we gotta get another beast of a Dlineman to play next to him. Batman needs his Robin. Need to take full advantage of his prime.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Licht home run all the way around. Homegrown and retained.
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
42M in guarantees
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
I wonder if any void years are attached to help smooth out the cap hit.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
I imagine AB is just fuming right now that GM Tom Brady decided to pay Vita over him lol.
Much deserved, love Vea. Drafting him helped turn our defensive system into what it is now.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Lol I bet this the timing of this was at least partly a middle finger to AB. He had to come begging for a measly $1mil in incentives guaranteed and quit the team over it. We respond by giving Vea $42 million guaranteed.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 10:03 pm I imagine AB is just fuming right now that GM Tom Brady decided to pay Vita over him lol.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
It's expected, but always good to re-sign our own draft picks to 2nd contracts they deserve.
I like it!
Next year is Devin White... maybe, probably imo

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
What’s the cap number for the contract?
He’s a valued player, but we did GET to the SuperBowl without him.
We have to watch the cap. Brady retires, and we’re in the cap hell where watchng Bucs games reminds me of the Josh Freeman era.

No we did not get to the Super Bowl without him. He played in the NFC Championship game and played extremely well.
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
We played two games prior to that game as well.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:25 amNo we did not get to the Super Bowl without him. He played in the NFC Championship game and played extremely well.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Key word being PRIOR. You do realize you still have to win the championship game to get to the Super Bowl right. Vea played in the championship game. Ergo WE DID NOT GET TO THE SUPER BOWL WITHOUT HIM.BJJ34 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:26 amWe played two games prior to that game as well.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:25 am

Bro, you’re ability to argue would make you think you were the lawyer of the board and not Kress.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:28 amKey word being PRIOR. Again, my question is does anyone have the caphit per year?

Don't get mad when you post something that is factually inaccurate and get called out.BJJ34 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:31 amBro, you’re ability to argue would make you think you were the lawyer of the board and not Kress.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:28 am

To answer that question, not yet. Details will probably be released during the week.

When boots and lugz both thought it was a good deal, I wondered who would step up.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
I like being an elite run defense. I know it hasn't been to the same standard at times this season as last year or the year before. But it's no coincidence that our run defense becoming elite and Vea's arrival overlap.
Vea, Shaq, Tryon, White, AWJ
I like those pieces in place the next few years to transition post-Brady.
LVD for atleast another year, probably 2.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Think it's time to add a jersey to the collection.
Tevita Tuliʻakiʻono Tuipulotu Mosese Vaʻhae Fehoko Faletau Vea is the fucking man and I'm thrilled about having him around for a long time.

Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Vea had one of the more pronounced switch flips that I can remember. In terms of performance. I was worried he was looking like a bust for a minute there. Big man figured it out and is priceless for our purposes.
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
I never saw bust in him. It was just early career injuries that seemed to be holding him back. He was always considered smart, so I figured he would learn to play at this level giving time.
Don't tread on me
Re: Vita Vea: Paid
Vea is the most important player on the defense, yes I said it.
The core of the defense is strong.
