Week 18 2022 Panthers @ Bucs

Post by mdb1958 »

I would think Carolina is shutting down or they will be in pick swap rounds in the draft.

Teams might shut down, but I never bet on players doing it (bad timing for that comment with AB, but you get it). Players don't get excited about giving the team better opportunities to go find their replacement.

Forget about the draft. According to this site, they have 22 guys becoming free agents. Most of them UFA. That's damn near half their roster. Every one of them would like nothing more than to put some good tape out there.

Just like us - some of them may need to go.

The ones who feel they have 'good tape' may want to not get injured. Hard to know which way the story floats.

Can the meager Bucs snatch the title of the NFL's highest scoring offense from the storied franchise of the Dallas Cowboys

Stay tuned! Now if the announcers start talking about penalties before they even happen we may have a problem...

Not sure which route we should take with this game. Guess the "safest" would be to get Evans his record, Brady 5k yards, then shut down the starters.

Or, given that we no longer have Brown, use this game as a test run for whatever new offense we're going to have to run which maximizes the potential of our remaining skill position players.

Unfortunately, you'd have to have competent coaching to do the latter, but we lack that so I'm sure they're just going to use the exact same shit we've be doing all year which is having Brady drop back 50 times and hope for the best.

I wonder if my team could find a way to make you feel like you took part in us acquiring new coaches.

Sorry, I wasnt able to lay those cards out for ya. Hang in there though, if you improve your credentials you may have a shot.

Hopefully we can get Evans his 50 or so yards to reach 1k again and then put him on ice with the rest of the starters.

Other than that I'd like to see Brady continue to build a rapport with Grayson and Perriman. Those two guys will be the X factors for the Bucs passing game come the playoffs. Both give the offense an explosive speed element so it's more about being in sync with Brady and catching the damn ball when it comes your way.

13 wins would be a Bucs franchise record (although an asterisk for a 17* game season since we went 12-4 in our 02 Super Bowl season as well).

I would not leave out TJ and Brate, who knows Brady may even pull OJ outta the garage for a test drive.

TJ and Brate have alot of practice and game reps with Brady already so I wouldn't put them in the same category as Grayson/Perriman. But I agree Brate and TJ will need to step up to the fill the void left without Godwin and AB in the passing game.

As for Howard. I just don't think Brady trusts him at all.

Brady needs 246 asterisk yards for his career high passing yards in a season.

I can still see Fitzmagic going nuts to start the 2018 season.

I disagree with the last part of your post. Most of them would like to avoid getting hurt. So they will not be going hard at all on Sunday. This game should be a cake walk but with this Bucs squad, you never know.

I rather the starters to play rest of the game for possibly #2 seed. If the score 30-7 Bud then rest starters

I believe Rams/49ers play same time as the Bucs game

This week we're on CBS against the Panthers and the announcers may surprise everyone.

jk It's Tony Romo and Jim Nantz. They can't get enough of Brady.

No kidding. I'm surprised they wouldn't be covering Ravens vs Steelers with both teams fighting for that #7 spot and it also being arguably the best division rivalry in football.

The Panthers are a scrap heap and that should be a blow out even with our injuries. But it's almost a guarantee Romo threatened to pull and AB if CBS didn't allow them to cover Brady for him 1 last time this season.

Steelers and Ravens need a lot of help to get into the playoffs.

I bet the Colts win and Chargers as well. For the last 2 AFC spots

Brady needs about 130 yards to set the Bucs single season passing yards record also. 1 TD pass sets a new single season record for the team too. Would also break his tie with Freeman for second place on the career passing TD list.

I thought up a good one! I wonder what Buc QB has the most wins? Can I get Scott Smith to put up a list for me?

I know it's silly, because we had a 14 game season forever, and then it was a 16 game season, and nobody cares...but I just can't get excited about breaking records in the 17th game. I'll get over it eventually.

I think the Colts win easily.

The Chargers, whew. I'd never bet on one of their games. You don't know what you're getting from 1 week to the next. They can go from beating the Chiefs and Bengals on the road to losing big to teams like the Texans.

I'd have no confidence in picking their game whatsoever.

Bad rush defense and Hebert seems to be having trouble with cover 2 defenses. Not a good combo for playing the Colts.

I'll say the same thing I said last week, we need to try some different things, different looks, not only to see if some things can be successful but to also make whomever we play in the Playoffs pay attention to it. I want to see a lot from our TEs this week. Let them be the running game and let's see if we can hit 2-3 deep balls or get PA.

Good trial for Vaughn. Looks like he and Bell will be the main RBs on the roster this week(with someone else likely being called up).

Let's go in, kick some ass, get a nice lead, and let the starters rest as much as possible once we do. We don't need any more injuries, and the way this year has gone, you know we'd end up having 3 guys get hurt in the 4th quarter.

We're a superior team, with a far superior quarterback, at home, with something to play for, going up against an inferior team, with a bad quarterback, on the road, with nothing to play for. Like Keyshawn said, San Jose State, step on the neck.
