Ronde Barber Named Hall of Fame Semifinalist for Fifth Straight Year
I have no idea how anyone can argue this point, especially Buccaneers fans.
And speaking of Ronde Barber and his 1 year at Safety in his final year of his Career. Let us cleverly call him "Safety D":MJW wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 1:08 am Also...there's this:
Safety A:
178 Games
59 Splash Plays (INT, Sack, FF, FR, Def TD)
967 Tackles
Safety B:
224 Games
64 Splash Plays
1059 Tackles
Safety C:
181 Games
85 Splash Plays
889 Tackles
Darren Woodson is the first guy, Lynch is the second guy, LeRoy Butler is the third guy. Woodson's numbers are a tick below Lynch's, but Lynch played in almost 3 seasons longer than Woodson did. With Butler it's even more glaring. Lynch played in 43 more games than Butler did, but Butler had 21 more splash plays in his career. Lynch is the only one of these three in the HOF.
Agree on the top 3.Cheb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 1:11 pm My top votes in alphabetical order would be for Ronde Barber, Devin Hester, and DeMarcus Ware.
After that, it gets more murky for me. Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne would be close for me, but I think their cases are a bit weak.
It's still a five-man class, right?
If they win that SB against Baltimore, he'd be in no question IMO.Snake wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 1:16 pm Patrick Willis only played 8 seasons. It was more like 7 because his 8th season was over after 6 games.
He was a pro bowler those 7 seasons. 5x all pro.
Off ball LB: 8 INTs. 16 FFs. 20.5 sacks. 60 TFLs.
The man was a beast. Damn injuries. I remember him annihilating people at Ole Miss wearing a hand cast.
It makes no sense to me, but he should get in next year. The only locks are Joe Thomas, Dwight Freeney, and Darrelle Revis. James Harrison is a maybe for first year induction as well. Shane Lechler and Jahri Evans should get in, but not first ballot.
Next year isn't great either. I count 3 guys who'll get in - Joe Thomas (Mortal Lock), Darrelle Revis (Mortal Lock), and Dwight Freeney (Almost certain.) There's also James Harrison, who could go either way. Either Barber or Zach Thomas will get in next class IMHO.Xandtar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 7:22 am The Rams and our DC cost Barber a yellow jacket, or so I believe. We had to get back in.
Oh well. The Old-Timers will get him in sometime before 2050.
But if he was going to get in the regular way, this was the year. The field of finalists was the weakest I've ever seen.
I think Hester gets in next year, too.
I imagine that DeMarcus Ware has a great chance of making it in next year too. Honestly should've made it this year.uscbucsfan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 7:35 amI think Hester gets in next year, too.
Makes for a crowded class next year.
