The Tampa Bay Rays
Dropped a close one to Boston last night, but we’re still up 7 on the Yankees.

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Last night had me ready to pull my hair out. Eat the out at 1st base instead of "lEtS cHaRgE tEh PlAtE!" and you lose runners at 3rd not once but twice. Either Rodney Linares was asleep at the wheel last night telling them to do that or the runners weren't paying attention to him. I'm happy to be up 7 games. Losses are gonna happen. But the way we lost the game was completely unacceptable.

Yeah, that’s a fair take and tbh we were due for the luck from the previous game turning against us.
NEED to clutch out a series W tonight.

Wander leaves the game in the bottom of the seventh after extending the streak.
He appeared to have some sort of issue on the right side of his head, imho it looks like a sinus issue.

The middle relievers worry me going into the September and the playoffs. As long as they get to Kittredge their fine. Problem is getting to Kittredge. Cash seems to be experimenting with letting some of the starters go deeper into the games. Outside of Kittredge, Robertson and maaaaaybe Rasmussen, I'm not confident in the bullpen.

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
If the Rays keep scoring runs the way they have been, they'll win the World Series. Cruz has added just the extra they needed on offense. Meadows can't fall into a slump like he did in the playoffs last year.

Hahahahahahahahaha Boston is so trash man. Who would've guessed 41 year old Nelson Cruz would be such a boon to our offense. God was I wrong about him.
Meanwhile I be missing my Choi Boii something fierce right now. Get well soon Ji-Man. We're gonna need you soon

Ha! We could only be so lucky. I've been waiting 10 years for the stadium in Tampa. The bitch of it is we will probably lose Franco right before it opens were it actually to happen. He'd fill that park every night but we'll watch him play form the LAD someday insteadPhantom wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 7:22 pmIndeed, the inside the park homer was great!Swashbuckler wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 6:21 pm Hahahahahahahahaha Boston is so trash man. Franco is and will be what Longoria was and then some. Kid is so good and the scary thing is he's starting to realize it. We'd be wise to try and keep him long term.

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Evan was so amazing his rookie year and everything just sort of tailed off. Hot take: but I blame Derek Shelton. Our hitting as a team went to hell in 2009 and lasted until the day Maddon left. Goes to Cleveland and their hitting was trash too. Now the dude is tank commander in Pittsburgh.King Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 12:29 am Franco is and will be what Longoria was and then some. I still have nightmares of Upton-Pena-Burrell in succession within a lineup. You could take a piss or make a sandwich knowing you were getting 3 strikeouts.

You have got to be kidding me. I'm all about laughing at how sorry the Sox fielding is but ANOTHER out at 3rd. Jesus make it stop already. Thank God we cashed in 3 runs. We've got to lead the majors in outs committed at 3rd

Cruz is a fucking ANIMAL. That 100 wins looks doable the way we're swinging it. I swear this team reminds me so much of Boston in 2013 in that we will just pull runs out of our ass from seemingly nowhere

Luplow BOMBS over the monster for a 12-1 one lead.

We own Boston. And New York. And Toronto. And especially Baltimore. Rays own the East and as Swashy said it perfectly, we pull runs out of our asses. You look up and the Rays got from 1 run to 8 in a hearbeat. This team is on another planet.

You couldn't ask for more from a deadline acquisition. You'd never know he was hitting .218 since TB acquired him.Swashbuckler wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 8:37 pm Nelson Cruz is getting randomly drug tested tomorrow. For the love of GOD

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Because David Hess needed to remind us what peak 2007 bullpen pitching was like. I swear we didn't have but like 2 guys with a sub 7.00 ERA back in the day. This cat would've fit right in. Who would've guessed it would take 8 runs to pull this off?

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Rays are the only team top 5 in doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs and walks. Yet they strike out more than any team in baseball other than the Cubs and are just 15th in batting average. This team makes no sense.
Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Chill.. don’t get excited
Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Damn pass the legend Mickey Mantle?Rays rookie Wander Franco went 0 for 4 with a walk, extending his on-base streak to 37 games and passing Mickey Mantle (1951-52) for the longest by an AL player under 21 years old. The 20-year-old Franco now trails only Frank Robinson, who reached in 43 straight in 1956.
