Top five players at your school, EVER

Post by Snake »

(Or any school)

Cut it anywhere you want it. College success, NFL success. Both.

Had a realization that Pitt has a sneaky good top five:

Dan Marino
Aaron Donald
Larry Fitzgerald
Darrelle Revis
Tony Dorsett

HM:

Mike Ditka
Curtis Martin
Mark May

The top three for Michigan (at least for me) are easy; Tom Brady, Charles Woodson, and Desmond Howard. After that, it's a matter of taste and mood, and being the prison of the moment versus nostalgia.

Don't really follow the football team much, but these 5 are the ones I remember off the top of my head. I can do much better with basketball.

I can't argue with that. My list would have been similar. I might have put up George Selvie over Andre Hall. Still...solid list.

I get grief for it but I'm not the biggest Sean Taylor fan. Physical specimen but sloppy player. Cut from the same cloth as guys like Lavar Arrington who would win fans over with the 1 out of 4 times abandoning his assignment worked to make a splash play while opponents thanked them for the other 3.

Had he not gotten the Tupac treatment he would've played long enough to have been exposed on and off the field. Especially as he grew more frustrated with a losing franchise.

Good player, but a lot closer to CB Aqib Talib than John Lynch, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Brian Dawkins, etc. Am I still lining him up need to Reed on my All Canes team, 100% I am. Just on a much smaller pedestal.

Also.... Booming a punter? In a pro bowl game?

Andre was a dawg. Can flip him and Irvin and I wouldn't argue.

I do agree that Jim Kelly should be on the list. He was a straight up machine for the Canes and was even one in the pro's...minus the superbowl lol.
