I like Sawyer in 5th or 6th. His ceiling and floor are the same.
I am praying for Bucs to draft Greg Gaines replacement and someone who can marginally minimize the loss of Vea due to injury if that were to ever happen. We are far too reliant on Vea and he is the most important piece of defense. That is a dangerous place to be considering he is north of 30 and weighs 350+ lbs.
I will continue to be on Cam Jackson's bandwagon. Strong ass mofer that physically dominates. Hard to find those type of players in mid rounds.

We annihilated that defense!

Ugh someone prank called Sanders leading him to believe he was drafter. I don’t care how much of a jerk he is - That is just cruel
I said what I said

Re: The Official 2025 Draft Day Thread!
The NFL network guys are literally talking about Sanders possibly going back to college, and taking up that last year of eligibility

He's always hurt. But I think if we trade him we take a big cap hit so its better to keep him. I'm tired of the injuries. His best ability is not availability. We have much better depth now. We really needed to address the secondary.

We did, but trading one of the starting outside corners for a meaningless pick out of spite isn’t the way to go.GoldenBudda wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 10:59 pmHe's always hurt. I get it. Dean is everyone’s whipping boy because he has missed time, but he’s a really good corner.

Ravens got Starks and Green. Hindsight to reflect on a few years from now.

I can only hope for one of David Walker or CJ West, I think both would be big for us.

Then you take a look at who they played and how they "earned" it.
They played only 3 offenses that were ranked top 10 or better and all 3 smoked that defense (Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Tampa Bay).
Most hated man in America.

This is the issue with QBs. Teams don't need a lot of them....particularly starters. So if the teams which do need a QB don't like a particular QB, the QB is SOL.GoldenBudda wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 8:02 pm I heard Shedeur completely bombed all interviews. The teams that needed QB may have taken him off the board.
He also has dysfuntional mechanics. His NFL dreams are vaporizing.

I can’t stand massive cocky egos in sports, especially when undeserved. So I’m cracking up watching this Sanders slide

This is a grossly inaccurate scouting reportGoldenBudda wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 4:13 pmWaiting for the ball to come into your body is definition of a body catcher. He's strictly a slot guy, so where does Godwin play?Pirate Life wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 4:05 pm
Might want to watch his tape again. He does catch with his hands, he just waits until very late to move them to not tip off the DB the ball is coming.
Royals ATTACKS the ball. 2 minutes of watching tape shows it clear as day. Egbuka does not.
I hate the pick, but the good news is just because I hate it doesn't mean he'll be terrible. Many players have changed their game once they became pro. Fingers crossed that he does.
Re: The Official 2025 Draft Day Thread!
Plenty of LBs on the board. Lots of HB talent too
Re: The Official 2025 Draft Day Thread!
Targets I like for the third day:
- Ty Robinson, DT, Nebraska - Very experienced, tested very well athletically, a bit of a DT/DE tweener who could be a 5-tech for us.
- Antwuan Powell-Ryland, Edge, Virginia Tech - Crazy productive (third in FBS in sacks) and smooth who doesn't have elite traits but does have elite production and is technically sound. He's a good football player and depth piece, fifth rounder maybe?
- LBs Danny Stutsman (Oklahoma), Jeffrey Bassa (Oregon) and Barrett Carter (Clemson) - I liked all of these guys quite a bit in the predraft process, and all of them are ACTUAL offball backers instead of edges pretending to be so. All are experienced, all shore up the middle of the D, all could challenge for a starting job, and all would offer excellent special teams value.
- Lathan Ransom, S, Ohio State - I love the thunder he brings. He's a natural strong safety, allowing AWJ to play free. Just watch him play. He might be my favorite safety left in the draft.
- Jack Nelson, OL, Wisconsin - has experience at OG and OT, a good depth candidate for a developmental backup swing lineman.
And a guy who deserves his own section...
JJ Pegeus, DT/DE/FB/TE/QB, Ole Miss - I fucking love this guy. Look at this big man:

Re: The Official 2025 Draft Day Thread!
Bradyn Swinson is my #1 target in 4th. Those who have never seen him play at LSU, think of his athletic profile as the anti-Diaby while creating similar impact.
Diaby looks Chiseled, Swinson has a weird stocky look for OLB
Diaby can run very fast straight line, but struggles to bend. Swinson is slow straight line, but weirdly has very good bend and good closing speed while running the arc.
Diaby was all speed to power as a prospect. Swinson is a powerful hand technician and has some pass rush moves.
I would bet on Swinson in the NFL to succeed. He is a great strong side Edge that will have a 10 year career.

With only three picks we again will watch the hopeful wealth of day three prospects go to someone else.
I dislike owning this every year but it is what it is.

Can’t pick everyone, mdb. It wouldn’t be fair.
If we can get one of these iLBs in round 4 I think it might be a little fun to take Skattebo in the 5th.

Re: The Official 2025 Draft Day Thread!
I need my AI robot to add all the teams draft picks for the last 25 years so I can see fair! I would be willing to bet some teams have picked a 100 more players than we have.

Sounds like you carried the same water I have been convincing my fellow Lightning fans that our #1 ranked offense was held up by a handful of blowouts and unsustainable shooting percentage. That most of the time we struggled against even average defenses. Look at em now
Re: The Official 2025 Draft Day Thread!
Harbaugh’s record speaks for itself. Guy is a hell of a coach. I wouldn’t put him on Reid or Belichick’s level or even his brother’s but hes definitely in that next tier. He’s just got to get over the top. He’s one of the few coaches out there to go to a Super Bowl and win a national title. I believe Carroll is the only one to actually win both? I think?
Re: The Official 2025 Draft Day Thread!
Shedeur’s fall is crazy. I mean, Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel were taken over him. The Steelers are more content with Mason Rudolph than drafting him. Something is really weird here because teams have said he had a good pro day and good workouts. Maybe not as good as Cam but still good.
It leaves me to believe the attitude problem is almost certainly the true reason for the drop. He made some comments during the year blaming his OL after losing to Nebraska. You also have to remember a lot of these interview that are done are with his teammates and other coaches behind the scenes and off the record. They probably didn’t get good vibes.

It's been a enough time and we picked up a couple good DB's ... this joke hits now:

GMs have no incentive to waste their own draft picks. A talented young cost controlled quarterback is the most valuable asset in the NFL.Navybuc wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:40 am Shedeur’s fall is crazy. If we assume that Sanders is a second round talent - I don’t think that’s a stretch - then the attitude and leadership qualms must be severe for teams to not wanna bother. There are a lot of reports about attitude problems. Some during the draft process. Others during the college football season. He point-blank blamed his offensive line and compared it to the other team’s offensive line. When playing their rivals. That shit is toxic.
Again, how many teams needed a quarterback coming into this draft? Like, “we’re looking for a starter very quickly.” 6? Every team is looking for a good backup. What are the traits you look for in a good backup? Stable, supportive, unselfish, team oriented.
What is Sanders?
Not that.
