Welcome Donovan Ezeiruaku!
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

The New Union will correct that mistake.

Shortlist

CBs Johnson and Barron. Exactly what the doctor ordered. Plug and play.

LB Jihaad Campbell- yeah, I may overdraft ILB but I like what I see.

Edges Jalon and Mykel from Georgia are legit. Great fits for our system and staff.

TEs Warren and Loveland are legit mismatch nightmares. When I think of every Otton catch going to one of them, the play goes so much further. Mean blockers.

LB JPJ will mature quickly in this locker room. All LBs will need a redshirt year though, just accept it.

Finally don't sleep on the WRs. Depending on how the top 18 go one could be BPA, but I think they'll go higher.

I could see that. Wouldn't be disappointed depending on the board.

"Solid, well done, good pick": Most defenders
"What the fuck are we doing?": A quarterback or an offensive lineman
"Not gonna lie, kinda hyped about it": A wide receiver

We have to come away with a NT in this draft. My dark horse is Cam Jackson from Florida. Cannot have Gregory Gaines taking any snaps.

My realistic wish pick at 19 is Ezeiruaku.
I'd be very happy with Walter Nolen and Mike Green.
I'd be cautiously optimistic if it was Shemar Stewart.

With Stewart I see the wrecking machine he is. His hustle is always a 100 and he will intimidate the fuck out of O-linemen with his athleticism. Still his lack of production is very odd for a guy with his gifts. He is more JPP than he is Yaya Diaby. Probably will end up similar to Odafe Oweh.

Tonight only:

Expecting defense no matter what.
Hoping for OL
Surprise would be a RB
Disappointment would be WR
Would understand TE or QB

If I were Licht, I wouldn’t overlook an RB upgrade. We’re one Bucky injury from not being great there. White has some skills, but we need another pure rusher to add to the room IMO.

I still think Tucker could be a stud with an opportunity, but I agree we could use another young RB late from this draft. It's deep.

Reports that Denver is taking calls for the 20th pick in front of Pittsburgh. The Steelers don't have a 2nd round pick. They might have to come up to get a QB. I think these teams are going to be trying to get in front of them and we could also be a prime spot for either Cleveland or NY who both have 2 3rds.

He hasn't valued RB much. 10 drafts, he's never taken one in the 1st round and only 1 in the 2nd (Rojo). Additionally, under Licht, we've never signed a drafted RB to a 2nd contract. I'd love a dynamic RB but ultimately I don't see Licht changing course.

Interesting.

Jerry Jones is also signaling (see: smoke screening) they’re open for business.

The Giants' and Browns' early 2nd + their 2 3rds is pretty spot on value for the 19th pick. As it would be for the 18th through 20th and so on. Might be able to get the Steelers to come up for the #21 and their 3rd?

Either way if we're on the clock and nobody has moved in front of us I'd definitely be shopping the pick if I were Licht.

Would love to trade down and get a character concern guy like Mike Green if he falls. We are about three solid starters away on defense from being middle of the road.

If we're dropping 14 spots out of the 1st & out of a 5th year option, we need to get a 1st for next year. I'd take the 2nd and a 2026 1st. 2 3rds is doing them a favor.

Works for me. Considering a 1st next year is likely top 10 again I'd be surprised if they'd be willing to give it up, but I'm all for it. Value says the 2nd and 2 3rds are worth more, but I get what you're saying. Especially in a draft like this that feels like a lot of guys are packed together and we could use the depth.

The impatient fan in me doesn’t like dropping out of the first, but it’s an arbitrary thing. However, if the draft quickly weakens after the first ten picks and they can get another first in the next draft, that’s hard to beat.

The “consensus” (I use this lightly) sounds like it’s a quick drop off after the first 5-10 picks. If the Bucs want to continue paying vets loyalty contracts and VOIDING it up, they need more picks.

This is the main reason. I'd be willing to take a gamble that neither the Browns nor Giants will improve all that much and will again be basement level teams. 2 3rds would be nice this year. But a potential top 10 or 5 pick is too good to pass up. Consider the divisions they both play in also. Both divisions fielded 2 playoff teams and I don't see the Browns or Giants moving past any of those teams.

Obviously I have no clue. Just speculating and running mental scenarios. Back half of this thing is going to be fun. Pitt may know they've got Rodgers in tow and aren't even considering QB. Who knows?

And how many they are x-ing off because they don't think they will be there unless a trade happens.

I've read that Green and Pearce are likely off their board, so there's that.

This sim I'm looking at - waiting for my pick has

Edge - Scourton 28th, Pearce 30th, and Ezeir 33rd
DT - Harmon 18th, Nolen 26th, Grant 37th
LB - Jihaad 25th, Schwes 48th
CB - Barron 19th, Amos 34th, Revel 41st, Hairston 42nd
S - Starks 20th, Emman 22nd

Make one pick and poof the rest are gone.. I don't know what they think of Harmon. If we go DB, then what is our 2nd pick going to be?
