Goedeke is in a contract year. We might extend him or let him walk. Either way, I'd try to draft one of these OTs. We really have relied on the worst of the worst in terms of OL depth and its cost us at times.
I think that letting Goedeke walk would be a huge mistake. He's one of the better RTs in football, imo, a borderline Pro Bowler.
If we didn't resign him at marker value, that's a huge mistake.

But yeah, a developmental tackle would be wise.
I'm with you. Just saying, at the end of the day, this is a business. It would be wise to prepare for as many outcomes as possible. And we don't have anything behind Wirfs & Goedeke.
My God, people can't see the forest for the trees.
POINT BEING, Goedeke's presence shouldn't stop us from adding OT depth early in the draft. Wirfs either. BUT in the event Goedeke isn't retained, we would be better prepared.

We both agreed with you.
Tackle depth and Goedeke staying aren’t mutually exclusive.

If William Gholston is done, who would you replace him with?
Take your pick. He is done.
Gholston played only 202 snaps(18%) last season and it would've been even less had Kancey not missed the 1st 5 games. He is a non factor when he is in the field and not missed when he isn't.

If you even pay half attention to my sims you know I already have, all that's left is to get someone else to offer up an opinion.

I have a little trouble following your sims because I don't think it's particularly realistic the way you operate them with the multiple trade downs and what not.

Go to profootball network and try to do as many tradedowns without losing all of the players you want.
Sometimes when I go from pick 19 to pick 32 I've traded down 3 or 4 times.
No matter what they are offering I almost never give up 2 picks to take their offer, if they offer a next year pick I try to give me something this year. I usually work with the pick that is closest to mine, if the algo's are crappy I just hit restart.

If only real life worked that way. I'd trade down 3 times to 32 in this draft!
Right. That’s my issue. It’s not realistic so I don’t really understand the appeal.
It's a robot, it will make the playoff teams get great draft picks. What's real is I'm writing the prospects names ahead of time while you are not - even if they go to other teams. I will do a sim and say damn there are 5 picks I liked in the 5th, 6 in the 6th, and 5 in the 7th.

If you like I'll do a sim and list them.
I’m sure it’s a fun exercise for you. I just don’t see the value in it.

Ok, you were part of the group before you told me this.

Who is Mack, the prospect WR that Draftbuzz has ranked #1 right now?
Sorry. Yes, @Obsolete is correct.
If we sign Khalil Mack in free agency I’d target Barron with the 19th pick.
Then maybe Princely Umanmielen or Nic Scourton fall to round 2 and we can get one of them with the #53? Then address iLB at #84 with Demetrius Knight, Barrett Carter, or Carson Schwesinger.
Barron is considered a versatile defensive back who can play multiple positions. Some say he's the most multifaceted defensive back in his draft class. Barron consistently played multiple positions in the Texas defensive backfield.
