Jason La Canfora of The Washington Post spoke to NFL executives following the Senior Bowl about the 2025 quarterback class. The consensus opinion is that while Ward and Sanders will both be top picks, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is also going to be a first-round selection.

I personally believe that Ward will have a more successful career than Sanders. Sanders reminds me of David Carr, but he is more mobile and takes more sacks.
Re: ***Official 2025 Draft thread***
What are the position groups that are the strongest in this draft class in your opinion?
Another opinion, should we try for more than 6 draft picks?

Khordae Sydnor DL/EDGE Vanderbilt - this player runs a 4.47?
Re: ***Official 2025 Draft thread***
Is there anybody with an interest in Landon Jackson for us.
Re: ***Official 2025 Draft thread***
In this entire draft I think I have more names from IDL and Edge that I'm curious about. If I did 20 names each I think I'd be leaving someone out.
Re: ***Official 2025 Draft thread***
If we drafted Nick Emmanwori would it be to make him an off ball LB?
Re: ***Official 2025 Draft thread***
Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft has the Buccaneers selecting Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan at 19.
“McMillan could go earlier in Round 1, but Tampa Bay would be a perfect landing spot. Chris Godwin is due to become a free agent, and Mike Evans can’t play forever, can he?”
Re: ***Official 2025 Draft thread***
Oh so when ole Doc says it it's crazy talk but when La Canfora does it's post worthy.Phantom wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 11:01 amJason La Canfora of The Washington Post spoke to NFL executives following the Senior Bowl about the 2025 quarterback class. Goodness they like talking about other peoples assets, but struggle to whisper about ours that might happen.

@mdb1958 do you create a separate combine thread every year or do you discuss the events in the draft thread?

Two McMillans on the same team? Way too confusing.Phantom wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 9:10 pmDaniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft has the Buccaneers selecting Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan at 19.

But I don’t think Tet gets past Vegas. Dude has sick skills.

The Buccaneers have met with edge rusher Princely Umanmielan at the NFL Combine, per Mike Payton.
Princely Umanmielen, an edge rusher from Ole Miss, is a 2025 NFL Draft prospect with a strong collegiate resume. Standing at 6’4” and weighing around 255-264 lbs, he transferred from Florida, where he played four seasons, to Ole Miss for 2024. That year, he recorded 10.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 37 tackles, earning First-Team All-SEC honors. Known for his speed, length, and explosive get-off, Umanmielen excels as a pass-rusher, with a notable spin move and solid bend around the edge. While his run defense needs refinement due to leverage and strength concerns, his athleticism and production project him as a potential early-to-mid Day 2 pick, with some analysts eyeing a late first-round ceiling. His Senior Bowl performance further boosted his stock.

Joking not joking, maybe Licht is checking to see if he's willing to give up an extra pick to get him with our 2nd pick. He should already have his answer.
If you go looking at as many prospect lists as you can find, study them and then you will see why my sims are the way they are - other than you don't get to see the crazy/manipulative trade deals offered to me.

Likely the top, the metatarsal region. Apparently they were up all night on this and he got more tests done. Surgery isn't recommended, so that's good. It'll still be something to think about. If this becomes a stress fracture, that could be career threatening. Teams will have to proceed with caution.

Tetairoa McMillan's best pro comps to me are Mike Evans and Drake London. Both were top 10 picks. Mike Evans ran a 4.53, Drake London didn't run at the combine and was injured for his pro day, so we don't have an official predraft 40 time.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 5:38 pm

Moreover, Tetairoa McMillan doesn't make his bread by being the fastest guy on the field; he makes it by being big, making contested catches, and catching defenders off guard with sneaky-good athleticism and routerunning.
I would have a hard time passing on McMillan if he dropped to us at #19, even though wide receiver isn't the biggest need.

Say we go this route and he kills it, Mike does just ok and Godwin does just ok and not much from the others.
Then you have a problem of over paying and another who wants a career contract.
Re: ***Official 2025 Draft thread***
Evans has what, 3 years left? McMillan would be a perfect long term replacement for him. I mean he's basically the same mold of WR.mdb1958 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 11:45 amCheb wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 10:59 am

Upgrading secondary is the priority for this draft imo since I believe there is some real talent that could be had even in the second round.
My favorite under the radar prospect is Shavon Revel. My second favorite is Trey Amos, second only because he may need to be drafted with a first round pick.
Both of them all world athletes with unreal upside.

The OL drills they are doing today really emulate live football reps. Probably my favorite workouts of the weekend.

Goedeke is in a contract year. We might extend him or let him walk. Either way, I'd try to draft one of these OTs. We really have relied on the worst of the worst in terms of OL depth and its cost us at times.
