Jets want consistency so they drafted Jordan Travis so they can have two QB’s with “ankle” injuries.

Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Fun fact: This is Jason Licht's 11th draft as Bucs GM. In 11 years he's drafted 2 QBs. Jameis Winston & Kyle Trask. He's drafted the same number of kickers in that span. The only position he's drafted less in that span is punter. He's drafted the same number.
I think it should be considered a well known fact now: Jason Licht can't evaluate the QB position accurately.

And anyone trying to dunk on the Winston pick is a clown.

Your delusion optimistic views are at least honest attempts to give a different perspective. But if you're going to pretend to be stupid in pretending you didn't know what I meant or understand the difference in draft evaluation and a guy who's played 5+ years in the league I'll treat you exactly how you're acting. Choice is yours, come correct, walk away, or play dumb.Doctor wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:07 pmHe evaluated Baker right on the money.Bootz wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:02 pm

I don’t think Rattler is 140 picks worse than the 6 donkeys picked in the top 12. That’s for sure.
Insane value for the Saints and I hate that. They had a great draft.
Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Ehhhh...I've seen enough of Rattler to convince me that he makes Josh Freeman look like a Hall of Famer.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:21 pmI don’t think Rattler is 140 picks worse than the 6 donkeys picked in the top 12. That’s for sure.

Hate evaluating drafts but I don't think anyone compares to what the Eagles did. They are just super smart. Just keep piling up draft picks and using them mostly on defense. There's going to be a book one day named "How to draft like the Eagles."

I don't think so... changed FSUs season, but he had a freak accident that he is completely healed from without prolonged effects. You don’t believe he would have been drafter higher had he taken then to the playoffs and had not been injured?Noles1724 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 8:53 pmI don't think so... changed FSUs season, but he had a freak accident that he is completely healed from without prolonged effects. Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Well, their draft board is their draft board, so it is what it is. That said, I would have preferred them draft another iOL at #57, like Haynes (even though he went 20+ picks later. I'm not so sure that drafting a guy like Smith at #89 was a good use of the pick and instead of drafting Braswell at #57, an EDGE like Isaac who went #93 would've been a better route to take.
So, I'm good with Barton @ 26 and McMillan @92, but I'd have preferred Haynes @ #57 and Isaac @ #89.
Everything is hindsight, but T.J. Tampa @ 125 would have satisfied their CB need better than Smith @ #89 (based on what I've read), about the two. Yeah, they lose out on Irving, but if Irving was coveted that much, trade up to get him. Or, take Irving at @92 and wait until #125 to get a WR like Cowing from Arizona.
I'm thinking that neither Klein or Culp make the 53.
tl/dr version:
#26: Barton
#57: Haynes
#89: Issac
#92: Irving
#125: Tampa
2 iOL's, an Edge, CB, and RB. 4 of the 5 similar, pass on a WR in lieu of an extra iOL.
Honestly, watching teams move up and down and seeing the Bucs being rather stagnant, tells me that Licht is too scared to be aggressive. Yeah, I know it doesn't always work out, but sometimes it does. The Eagles at the start of the draft, had 10 draft picks this year before we even had our 6th, and ended up with 9. Those picks are acquired because Roseman isn't afraid to trade down to gain assets and then use those assets to trade up to get his guy.

Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Oh, ok. See, I thought your passive aggressive post was to imply that moving up one two spots to make sure you didn't miss out on "the last guy" was examples of being aggressive. I meant aggressive as, targeting a guy you want, and going up and getting him. Also, as seeing equal value on the board and dropping 8 to 10 spots to add more picks or get bigger jumps. Virtually every one of Licht's trades are of the former and not the latter. He sits and waits for the draft to happen, the at the last minute, he'll move up a spot or down a couple. I was actually shocked that he moved down 6 spots in 2022 for Logan Hall, and gained 2 extra picks instead of small bumps.Selmon Rules wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 6:48 pmPoint was that he has never had a problem before, maybe he just didn't get a deal he liked or had a player he liked sitting there when we pickedCannonFire wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:22 pm

For the most part, his biggest moves in draft day trades, usually come towards the end when getting back end fodder that rarely ever work. Mind you, I don't have a problem with that. Nothing wrong with trying to find a home run where generally one or two year players are found. My issue is that in the first four rounds, he's rather static.

For better or worse Licht has made moves up/down in every draft except this one. I found that interesting too. When he wants someone he goes and gets them.

When you move up one or two spots, that's NOT "going and getting your guy", that's "there's one guy left and I have to make sure I get him".Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 11:28 am For better or worse Licht has made moves up/down in every draft except this one. Even the draft we got Wirfs, he was the fourth tackle taken. Yeah, Licht traded up ONE spot to get him, but if he really liked Wirfs and didn't want to miss out on him, he'd have gone up to get him. If you wait for 2 tackles to get drafted just 5 picks ahead of you and go up just one pick to grab a player, that tells me he had FOMO. That's not being aggressive, that's being scared.
Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
The amount of effort you put into hating is incredible.
Actually its well known Licht had been trying to trade way up for Wirfs but it takes two and no one was biting. But sure, keep perverting reality kiddo.

Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Your perspectives are very weird. I bring up that I don't like Mayfield and say that we need a real QB who has the ability to be a winner. You mock it saying that I want a "savior". Your stance on that is weird because Tom Brady was a savoir for Jason Licht. You do understand that under Jason Licht, the Bucs are losing over 60% of their games where Tom Brady (the SaViOr), didn't play. Sorry, but not everyone enjoys rooting for a loser, like you do.
Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Anyone know who started stockpiling draft picks for next year?
Re: The Official 2024 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
It's true that it is a big stain on Licht's resume and proof that he is a coward, because he didn't give up more draft capital in order to get Wirfs.
