So Kittle should have abandoned his blocking assignment to look behind his back to anticipate a fumble?
Jesus....fuck Kittle for not seeing in to the future I guess.

Hmm, wrong on this one Acmillis.
Watch Kittle read the player's jersey number and pause to remember the player's first name for a funny "Mic'd Up Moment."
Meanwhile, the other guy is playing through the whistle the millisecond after the attempt to humor and dives around Kittle.

Not to mention by that point Kittle wasn't even engaged in a block any longer.

So because Kittle is not touching the guy, the play is over, right? Karlaftis is just standing there (like Kittle) until the fumble occurs.
If Kittle was grunting or saying anything not, "funny" would you have a problem with that?
And miss me with this, "he looked at the number, saw it was Karlaftis, made a joke." You don't think he knew he was going to be blocking Karlaftis before the snap of the football? Are these guys fucking amateurs?

Very weird hill to stand on alone. Kittle was being a clown here.

I agree, but the fumble was behind his back. What was he supposed to do? Stop looking directly at the guy he was supposed to be blocking because....reasons?

He was supposed to keep blocking his dude because the whistle hadn't blown yet.

Again, day one stuff.
If Kittle stays engaged to Karlaftis, chances are he's not the one who ends up recovering fumble.

Some years back, my brother and I were playing on the same soccer team. He played keeper and I was a defender. I made a beautiful steal and passed it to him so he could throw it downfield. We were all full of ourselves and high fiving etc. and replaying our glory, joking around etc. That was for all of about 2 minutes. But during those two minutes we were so engrossed with our brilliance that we never saw that a player from the other team came downfield like lightning and scored while we were still celebrating. Smdfh.
