I know the likelihood of this happening is near zero, but Brady as an NFL head coach would be pretty fucking epic.
The collaboration that could occur between Brady and a young talented QB would be fun to watch on the field.

I miss Brady. Its so sad that it really does seem like the nfl is moving away from the Brady and Peyton style of heady QBs who understands the game enough to audible as needed.
I dont know if its coaches/playcallers removing/limiting the freedom to do so, or if its the QB's not being able to read/diagnose like those 2 could.

In the 60's, it was the QB who called the plays, not the coaches.Obsolete wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 6:04 amI miss Brady. Its so sad that it really does seem like the nfl is moving away from the Brady and Peyton style of heady QBs who understands the game enough to audible as needed.

Mahomes is one of the best pre-snap QBs of all time at identifying coverage, weakness, etc. He changes plays, shifts blocking, changes routes on most plays. I'd say Burrow and Allen are elite in this category. I can't say Jackson is or isn't as I watched him three times last season.Obsolete wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 6:04 amI miss Brady. No one is/was Manning.
Brady didn't have control of the offense like Manning had, but the elite QBs check out of plays and shift players around just as much as Brady did.
Young QBs with new technology absolutely rely a lot on coaching to dissect the field for them. This was Goff's biggest criticism for years...he had no clue what he was doing. It's a handicap, but it also helps players acclimate faster. There are pros and cons, but I see what Brady is saying with QBs reliant on coaching and the headset, when things break down they get lost.

Leonard Fournette wasn't cheap either and Mixon is way better.

if we can't block, Jim Brown wouldn't make a difference.
Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
Yes to Justin Simmons and Joe mixon! We need to upgrade the roster. Go bucs
Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
Come to the bucs for vet minimum. Where you can compete for a…something

Bullshit, Barry Sanders would still get his. You don't remember QBs like Rodney Peete or Erik Kramer or Andre Ware throwing the rock? He had 9 or 10 in the box every play and got his yardsGreatTimes wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 3:00 pmBarry Sanders would have a tough time with the Bucs offensive line.

Has nothing to do with the Q, has everything to do with the offensive line. The Bucs RB's were consistently being hit behind the line of scrimmage because the Bucs IOL was really bad.kaimaru wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 3:12 pmBullshit, Barry Sanders would still get his. Barry Sanders was consistently hit behind the LOS. There was a documentary years ago that spoke about the difference between Sanders and Smith and Sanders was on average touched 3 yards behind the LOS, while Smith was 3 yards past the LOS. Some of that was Barry dancing, but he's a bad example to use.GreatTimes wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:25 pmHas nothing to do with the Q, has everything to do with the offensive line. I have nothing to base this on. But it feels like SF always does well there.

Had he done this on July 4th, the day after his 30th birthday, it would've been only 2 years and far less in guarantees according to this board.

Mac Jones headed to Jags to start his stage as a career backup
