Not even remotely. If you were absolutely convinced one QB only was the next superstar and none other, and Chicago was good with two different QB, then and only then would you even consider trading up.
Even then, giving up your best receiver when you won't be picking another #1 receiver for two years is criminal to your new starting QB. That alone would kill the deal for me. And if the Bears liked two and were picking a QB, they would probably settle for two ones or maybe the #2 and 2 seconds in this draft.
The only way Chicago wouldn't accept that to get the second pick is if they are just as convinced as Washington was that there was only going to be one great QB and their number was just good bc as a smart GM, you know Chicago has a lot of holes to fill

Lmao the Commanders get Maye, Williams, or a massive trade down. Why would they ever trade up

Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
There is another way. If the Bears think the draft only has 2 QB's, then it stands to reason many other GM's are of a similar mind. They could then sell the #2 pick for a kings ransom. So, if the Bears think that whatever they don't get from moving down from 1 to 2 can be made up for in spades by selling #2, they do it.kaimaru wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 6:27 pmNot even remotely. For me, an equally pressing question is what could they get for Fields. They probably won't get a kings ransom given that he isn't as proven as Russ or Deshaun AND he's about to get that second contract but he still has a lot of value. I just don't know how to appraise it. Getting a good payoff for Fields, taking Caleb and having your new QB under rookie scale for several years is very appealing.
The Bears are in a damned good spot. They have several paths to success open to them.

What happens with Devin White? He went from wanting to be paid $20mm per year and starting Game 1 with maybe his best game of his career to falling off the map almost immediately after and not even a starter for the playoffs.
Obviously, he doesn't deserve to be the highest paid LB in the NFL, but do we even try to keep him?

He hinted at wanting a huge contract and then a trade in the off-season, was encouraged to rest during the season, was MIA for most of the biggest game of the year, and subsequently scrubbed all Bucs content from his socials (reportedly).uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 3:09 pm What happens with Devin White? Yup. DW is looking at a one year prove it deal elsewhere now. I’d love to come full circle in rectifying that mistake by signing Josh Allen in free agency.

I think he was a player for the Panthers back in the 90s.
Panthers hired Dan Morgan as President of Football Operations — General Manager.

2020 playoffs Devin White looked like he could win a DPoY one day. He never sniffed that level of play again. These Are The Days wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 7:34 pmSo long, and thanks for all the horses. Oh and the Lombardi too

For some guys, everything changes when they win their ring. Suddenly the money you're making matters that much more. I think that's what happened there with White and I can understandGrahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 7:36 pm2020 playoffs Devin White looked like he could win a DPoY one day. I'd agree with this if White didn't have such brutal game film prior to the playoffs during our run. He just reverted back to who he was. These Are The Days wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 7:39 pmFor some guys, everything changes when they win their ring. White will be a FA and some team will sign him and move him to edge. Bucs should have tried that.
