I think the referee got confused because 70 came into the game and thus he thought he was reporting as eligible.

Doesn't the referee make an announcement that a player is eligible? That's the usual MO. I'd be interested in hearing what number the referee said.

Every camera shot that I saw of Decker (68) AFTER the infraction, he appeared self-contained, inarguable, slightly confused and withdrawn.
This AFTER a rare OL touchdown was taken away in a classic moment for someone at his position.
Just saying that his body language appears to say otherwise.

What are even eligible numbers anymore? We have wide receivers wearing 50s, offensive linemen in the teens, and defensive lineman wearing 0s. Its a crap shoot out there.

The referee was clearly confused about who reported as eligible. Video shows that # 68 reported and # 70 was not near to the referee. In fact when #70 was coming of the bench, the referee was already running to towards the line of scrimmage. #70 did not come close to the referee before the play started.

I have also seen comments that #68 was covered by the WR. That is false. The WR was off the line of scrimmage. Thus #68 was an eligible receiver on this play.

Did the referee announce to Dallas that any player reported as an eligible receiver? I didn't hear any announcement, but that is up to the refs, not the player.

See, what does that mean? He WILL let you down in the big moments? He won't win, won't win you a super bowl? Did Peyton Manning not let down the Colts every year but one? Luck, Burrow, Lawrence all let downs?

I don't know if Goff will ever win a SB, its just hard to do. But I know he could, and more importantly, he puts the Lions in the best position to do so in years. We've seen Lions take down some heavy hitters.
