Ya our end of game defense is unbelievably bad. I'm never confident in a win if the other team has a little time left and their timeouts.Selmon Rules wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 5:17 pm Fully expected to lose today, always happy to beat Falcons.
That said, we aren't good. We don't absolutely suck but we ain't good.
Still trying to figure out why I got downvoted in game day thread for wondering how we were gonna lose after we took the lead at the end.
Whatever, we were all thinking it

We have no confidence in the coaching we are getting. Hand to God Arians could get 11 wins out of this team. Bowles just ain't the guyXandtar wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 4:30 pmDon't hold back, tell us how you really feel! These Are The Days wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 4:12 pm I'll say it again. I cannot disagree with you, we almost choked this game away.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
I cannot find words to describe this game. Just about everyone had a moment you wanted to Cheer for. And, within minutes, you have no idea why that idiot is on the field. Devin White and JTS should not play a down for the Bucs ever again, hopefully Ryan Neal made that decision on his own today.....
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
And no one has a clue as to why Devin White got benched again. Just because he sucks?

Are my eyes deceiving me?? Did a Bucs RB have a 100 yard day?,
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
Said this during preseason.. the route concepts/spacing is an issue.

I didn't even notice but he did. And at a healthy 4.1 ypc clip. It didn't seem like it.BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:02 pm Are my eyes deceiving me?? Did a Bucs RB have a 100 yard day?,

Watching some of these other QBs play makes me think we’re fortunate to have him.acmillis wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 5:06 pmHe had at least two terrible misses and two extremely bad reads throwing to double coverage when there was WR wide op n, and he completed less that 50%. I don’t feel like he was missing wide open guys? Atlanta’s D is good.
Dude battled and led the team on a GW TD drive. “Ass” feels overly harsh.

It's unfortunate but some people have their own alternative agenda that is more important to them than this team winning. Winning games should be the goal, no matter how ugly it is. Because he ripped off a few long runs in the 4th quarter after several Falcon D-Linemen got hurt. Still, those runs did happen so you can't not count them.Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:22 pmI didn't even notice but he did. And at a healthy 4.1 ypc clip. Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
Rachaad White actually has a realistic shot at 1K rushing yards this season.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
I respect your take, but have to strongly disagree. I feel like the optimistic analysis of Baker is happening mainly because we got him on the cheap and our expectations have been really low around start of the season. He's playing Jameis like in terms of inconsistency and ineptitude. Some positives and some negatives, a tease if you will. He doesn't have the classic interceptions in 4th qtr the way Jameis used to, but he doesn't move the ball up and down as much as Jameis used to either. The blame goes towards the coaches first, but Baker has been part of the problem for vast stretches of many games himself.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:51 pmWatching some of these other QBs play makes me think we’re fortunate to have him.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
I mean, whatever?? Looking at the numbers he only had 2 runs go 10 yards or more, the longest of which went for 12. A chunk full of 4-8 yard runs. That's a pretty good, consistent effort. That they happened late in the game is good for the offense. Keeps us balanced and on schedule.BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 8:01 pmBecause he ripped off a few long runs in the 4th quarter after several Falcon D-Linemen got hurt. I’m not advocating for him to be our long term answer, but in terms of QB play around the league right now, yeah. I feel fortunate to have him for $8M and no draft pick investment.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
Couple weeks ago I said win 10 in a row, now it's down to 8.

Here's the thing, we all know Baker is a long shot. But he was one worth taking. And he still has more than enough time and big games to step up and really earn another deal.
I mean if the guy gets a playoff win, holy fuck.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
Your eyes are not deceiving you. White had over 100 yards today, and had another 100+ yard day two weeks ago.BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:02 pm Are my eyes deceiving me?? Did a Bucs RB have a 100 yard day?,
Indeed, over the last three games Rachaad White has had 286 rushing yards to go along with 65 receiving yards and two scores. Not elite numbers to be sure, but not far off in comparison to his more heralded peers. If he keeps up this kind of production, that will have knock-on effects throughout the offense.
An optimist might argue that the running game is turning the corner in a big way.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
He absolutely was one worth taking for this season. But I struggle to agree with this notion that Baker's play has made a positive impact on the Bucs compared to what the Saints got from Andy Dalton last season, what the Colts have gotten from Minshew this season, Brisett in 22 etc. Jameis is making $4 mil himself. He can be a respectable stop gap option like those guys were/are.Doctor wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 12:12 amYou're not wrong. You're just early.Jonny wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 9:11 pm

I don't think substantially we disagree on Baker as a stopgap. But I certainly don't come out of these games feeling good about him and our offense and that is where I think I differ from some of you. There was a fluke element to this win. 9 points off turnovers for the offense and 6 points missed FG by Falcons and we won by 4 after some heroics. Our offense was horrible and Baker was ineffective most of the game.
At the same time I do feel bad for Baker. Our OC lives to make it really difficult for Baker. Our receivers are good, but I think Baker would benefit more from a Drake London or Hopkins type #1 WR who are great at adjusting to the catch than Evans who is more fast and big, but needs the ball to be dropped in his bread basket and lacks their physicality.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
I already have my opinion but communicate to me what Bowles is doing on defense.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
Add in the smaller Edmonds with his quickness & speed and we've seen a pretty good run game the past 2 weeks.Cheb wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 12:45 amYour eyes are not deceiving you. Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
Yeah that Edmonds guy has been pretty good for us. Who would've guessed?
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
Chase Edmonds has 95 yards on 29 carries, good for 3.3 ypc to go along with 8 catches for 55 yards and no TDs at all. Simply put, he has not been good.

Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Falcons 29-25
One of the stranger games I have seen this franchise win. They were pretty much outplayed the whole game except most of the 4th quarter and still managed to win. But was also 5 yards away from losing on the last play of the game.
