The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
LVD articulates what I've been trying to say for so long now. We're winners now. The culture is there now. This team is different now. I don't understand how anyone can be mad at OBP or where we are as franchise.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Looks like Vea slimmed down a good bit
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Hopefully that means he'll be able to stay on the field longer.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Oooh Baker. Tsk tsk tsk....
Also pretty interesting to see where Justin Fields is. That would explain the aggressiveness the Bears used to increase the talent around Caleb Williams. They know QB wasn't their biggest issue.

No way the King of PhinLand shows any bias in his charting, right?
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
It's not his charting. He's just reposting. The source is listed.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 7:12 am No way the King of PhinLand shows any bias in his charting, right?

I'd like to see this chart after next year. Improved Oline, 2nd year in, new (and better coordinator)

Let's go get Zach Wilson.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 8:14 amIt's not his charting. He's just reposting. The source is listed.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 7:12 am No way the King of PhinLand shows any bias in his charting, right?

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
They won 9 games last year and didn't ADD any key pieces to help them improve. The unbias industry of analysts think we're a 7-win team. David is saying exactly what I'd expect him to say, but that doesn't mean that it's reality. We have a "decent" roster, it's not a "winning" roster. Get your head out of your pom-poms and you'll see the reality of why people aren't all that happy about OBP.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Its sad honestly. @Doctor use to be a respected, reasonable poster who gave objective, unbiased, and fairly knowledgeable commentary. He's abandoned that for some reason for this "my heads in the clouds hopium" persona. He dismisses and argues against immutable data and facts. He purposely and boldly lies and posts false data, posts incomplete information as to deceive people. Arrogance dismisses any criticism of the team or personnel even when presented with truth.CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 11:59 amThey won 9 games last year and didn't ADD any key pieces to help them improve. Maybe he's personally at an age of being unaware of what he's doing. Who knows but it is very sad.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Canales was a rookie OC at this time last year and we had to deal with some of his inexperience early on (not that he was terrible, but he was developing. Coen is a little more polished coming in)CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 11:39 amYou're sure about that?Central_Buc wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 9:09 am I'd like to see this chart after next year. Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Anyone know if Rookie Minicamp took place this past weekend or if it will take place this upcoming weekend?
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I love how the chief argument in everyone one of your post is "but look at what others are saying".CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 11:59 amThey won 9 games last year and didn't ADD any key pieces to help them improve. Yes, the "unbias objective industry" (whatever that means) had us picking near #1 last year.
Even your Baker hate isn't anything valid like "too short to see over the line," or "will revert to bad habits under pressure" or "can't shake off a hit" or anything actually valid. It's "two trash front offices gave up on him so that clearly means he isn't good".

People act like we were the exact same team Week 1 vs Week 15.

I hate the off-season pissing contests we have on here but I also realize it is the nature of a message board....
"We suck!!"
"No! We're Superbowl contenders!!"
"You're a doodyhead!!"
And on it goes
I'm done now, continue

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Was it objective, unbiased and knowledgeable last year when everyone, national media and local fans were saying we are a laughing stock, lucky to get 2 wins, and last place?
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
And yet despite "not adding anything or improving in any way" we're expected at 7 now... Hmm.... Maybe one of the "realist" can explain how that happens.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 7:16 pm Was it objective, unbiased and knowledgeable last year when everyone, national media and local fans were saying we are a laughing stock, lucky to get 2 wins, and last place?

Just human nature. No matter how great things are some will be pessimistic. No matter how bad things get there will be some who are optimistic.Selmon Rules wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 7:15 pm I hate the off-season pissing contests we have on here but I also realize it is the nature of a message board....

People around here complained in the off-season and during the season when we actually did win the Super Bowl.

In an era where people are jumping from job to job every 1-2 years with no sense of loyalty I’m incredibly impressed with this organization’s ability to retain their homegrown players.Doctor wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 7:32 pmAnd yet despite "not adding anything or improving in any way" we're expected at 7 now... Actual, literal moves towards winning a chip and haters hated every step of the way.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I'm confused by the "we did not add anything" I don't recall forfeiting draft picks. Nor recall sending Whitehead and Hall back to NY.Doctor wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 7:32 pmAnd yet despite "not adding anything or improving in any way" we're expected at 7 now... Hmm.... Do we see this as enjoyment here at IABL?

How dense are you? He's calling you cynics out with on your "we didn't add anything" bs. Which, yes, Canon did literally say and you quoted.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 9:14 pmHe can't operate without telling a lieCentral_Buc wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 8:50 pm

He did. He also said he'd prefer Justin Fields over Baker lol.
But back to the we didn't add anything comment. He forgot about the 4 guards we added, 2 in FA and 2 in the draft.
We all must have had the same dream when we thought we saw the headline of Bucs signing Gregory.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
BTW the LVD interview was great. Devin White's new name is Sensitive White, being the least likely to host his own roast.
I can only imagine how mad? Sensitive White will be when the Philly Fans start roasting him for on field play.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Between Vernon Hargreaves and OJ Howard (maybe a lesser extent Winston and DW) that either they play themselves into a new contract or you cut them which is the smart move. If JTS turns into sack king Barrett this year you can franchise him next year and say prove it again. If he does what did it cost you? 5-8 for a year? My answer is Licht is finally getting good at being a GM
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
There were talks that conditioning coaches had him on snap counts bc of his weight. I would assume having 30 plus pounds of fat also slows you down even elite as he is. If Vea was in Wirfs shape, I couldn't imagine how quick and strong he would be. Good for him. The FO and coaching really pushed him to be in shape before training camp and to lose weight back to his combine weight. Looks like he kept up his end

League wide, not picking up the fifth year is growing in popularity. Or maybe they are shrinking the list?

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I’ve posted it in a few threads that disparage JTS or Licht for JTS, but 2021 was an all time bad draft. Only 18 guys from the class have had their fifth year options picked up.
And if you look beyond that there’s only a handful of guys who’ve made any kind of impact.
Logical reason? Covid stunted their development and once they got into the league they couldn’t hang.
