Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Panthers 21-18

Post by Cheb »

Does barely beating a bad team make us good? Guess so. Playoffs, here we come?

Congrats to Evans.

No. But it makes me feel a lot better than if we had lost

About as embarrassing as a win can be. Mike is our only offense.

Hey. I always enjoy a Bucs win. I don't care how good or bad it looks.

Also, I think it is great that ME got his 10th 1000-yard game in A WIN and AT HOME. It will be a more fun memory for him than if he'd gone over 150 for that 1000 and still lost the game.

I am glad the Buccaneers won. It was against a 1-10 team. I still think the road ahead is difficult given the injuries and poor coaching.

Bryce Young makes Baker Mayfield look like Tom Brady.

That is a really bad quarterback over there. Good thing they didn't give up too much to get him.

As for us...this felt like 1991 when we beat the Colts in the Stuper Bowl.

Panthers might have the worst group of WRs I've seen in a very long time.

I honestly don’t agree. They probably took the wrong quarterback. But I see a lot to like. Hard to undersell just how bad the entire team is.

There’s been no progress with him. That’d be my concern. But I wouldn’t panic yet. Problem is they can’t really build since they gave up draft picks to get him. So it may be a tough couple of years before they start putting young talent around him.

I don't think he has it upstairs. Seems a bit slow and every shot you see if him on the field, he looks buried in his helmet with a look of confusion and surprise on his face. Almost like walking into the wrong classroom at school.

Don't forget, we played the 49ers better than the Eagles just did, so that means we're better than the Eagles, so that means we'll be at least top 3-4 in this week's power rankings, so that obviously means rhe committee puts us into the playoffs despite our record.

So, yes.

The Saints game was on when I was at the gym, and when I looked up at the TV, that's exactly what Jameis looked like out there today. It was like he was confused about what building he was in and what that oblong thing was people kept bending over and tossing back at him. You'd never peg him as a vet with however many starts under his belt.

So strange.

The bottom line is, we scored three touchdowns and won the game. Technically we're still in the hunt for a playoff spot but third place in the division is a lot more likely. If somehow we win in Atlanta next week, maybe I'll take just a little shot of the Hopeium, but right now I'm watching us limp into the end of a pay-the-price-for-the-Lombardi season.

And you know, even knowing we'd have this and another season just as bad as this next year for that over-the-water Lombardi pitch, vs. a few years of 10-7 and 11-8 seasons, I'd still make the trade. Think about it. Of our remaining opponents, Atlanta has 28-3 to remember for their Super Bowl appearance. Green Bay last won the Super Bowl in 2011. Jacksonville has never been in a Super Bowl. New Orleans last won the Super Bowl in 2010. Carolina, like Atlanta, has only sad memories of the Super Bowl. We have 2021's trophy and we never have to give it back, that was no stolen victory, no Hail Mary, not one of the Super Bowls of all time by NFL Films standards... 75 million in cap space, that piece of tin cost us this year and it's showing in the standings. So what?

As I said, next week we either start dreaming about January or about April. Enjoy this tonight.

Pretty sure I wasn't the only one expecting them to drive down and score either a FG to tie and the win in overtime or a TD to win at the end??

Thankfully they pulled a Bowles zero blitz level fuck up with 2 passes with a yard to go.

That Evans TD won me $1K on a $50 bet so I’m happy even though we barely beat the worst team in football

Seriously, grats on having the stones to make that bet.

This Carolina team and organization is shockingly bad. Like nearing 2000 Browns and late-stage Millen Lions bad.

I feel like I need to go to Catholic confession after watching that. Or maybe an exorcism.

The Bucs didn't stink as bad as the Panthers did. If it wasn't for Mike Evans, the Bucs probably lose the game.

I don't know when all of you internet fucks started using the word literally in "literally" every comment but it is noticeable. It does not mean what you believe that it does. I hate online slang so much.

I'll take partial blame for that one. Literally is literally part of the miami lexicon. I literally use it all the time.

Wait until I start dropping irregardless.

Dude has done a great job this year upping his payday. I sure hope we give it to him.

And yeah, beyond "enjoying the win" in that pure sense, there's nothing to feel good about with this one.

Offense is stuck in the mud unless Canales and Bowles can get out of their way. Baker is not the QB we thought he was in the first 4 games. Teams have tape on him in this system. The young talent on defense is quite good. For us to have a shot, the defense is going to have to carry us and our vets were missed last night. Happy for the win and keeping us in the race.
