Week 11 Discussion

Post by Bootz »

Very intriguing matchups this week. AFC North all battle each other. Both of those games should be great. Vikings vs Broncos is all of a sudden interesting with both teams coming in on long win streaks. And of course the Superbowl rematch. Eagles vs Chiefs. Both teams coming off a bye. Monday Night. League knew what they were doing here.

With Denver completing their 9th game, every team is now more than halfway through the season. Here's how the playoffs would look if season ended today.

NFC

#1- Eagles

#7 Vikings @ #2 Lions
#6 Cowboys @ #3 49ers
#5 Seahawks @ #4 Saints

AFC

#1- Chiefs

#7 Texans @ #2 Ravens
#6 Browns @ #3 Jaguars
#5 Steelers @ #4 Dolphins

Lions, Saints, Texans, Browns, Steelers in.
Giants, Bucs, Bengals, Bills, Chargers out.

Not liking Calebs attitude. Its a red flag for me. Giving off major Ryan Leaf vibes.

If Vikings win this week, that would be their 6th in a row and 3rd with a guy they got hours before a game. The fact that they have played every team very close despite having fluky turnovers in bunches early part of this year, combined with a win streak when they were 1-4 at some point tells me that their record last year was no fluke. They are very well coached.

And without Jefferson for most of it.

It will be interesting to see if the Jets can pull a win out against the Bills. The Bills lost to Denver has the potential to be destructive to team morale. The coach will have a job to do to keep the team together. Las Vegas will be interesting to. See if they can continue to win under the interim coach. Bring back shades of Rich B who they should have hired.

Their turnaround is remarkable. Kevin O'Connell deserves COTY consideration. No Justin Jefferson, Cousins goes down, they not only keep winning but get better.

If the Bucs can win with NO and ATL off this week, I believe they go to the top of the NFCS with full control of their playoff chances.

Tall task against the Niners.

I'm glad we got the W vs the Titans, because what the 49ers are going to do to us will be considered a war crime.

IMO the Saints have an easier schedule than the Bucs for the rest of the season. But the NFCS may very well be determined by the game between the Saints at Bucs in the next to last game this season.

It's not necessary, but it'd be a huge conference win, same with the Packers.

Beating the falcons is a necessity. Beating the saints again will be crucial. Sweeping the Panthers will matter.

Colts and jags would be great to get a win.

I agree Bootz and that is exactly why I think Bucs would need to show pride in this weekend's matchup. I'm not expecting a win per se, 49ers are a damn good team. But the O'Connell and Flores prepared their team exceptionally well for that matchup when it looked like the season was over for the Vikes with their best player on the sidelines. I understand a scenario where 49ers could have won that game. But the way Vikings showed up, it looked like both the teams were neck to neck that night.

I would love to see Bucs play a game against one of the better teams where it appears as if our coaches put the players in the right position to win. They surprisingly did that against the Eagles, even if the game was lopsided. Evans drops killed any of our early offensive momentum. They also did that against the Lions and Baker decided to suck balls that game with his overthrows. I can accept those kind of losses where it comes to player execution. What happened against the Falcons, Bills and Texans however was a lot more egregious. I'm glad we got to play a injury ridden Titans to discover what winning feels like before the 49ers game.

I didn’t realize Dorsey was in charge of making sure 11 players were on the field the last play of the game.

No one has looked better than healthy Niners this year, Bucs going across the country to a superior team. If they keep it within two scores I'd be impressed. But have to see the Niners injury report first I guess, they become a completely different team when a key piece or two is out.

I know it’s early to write Young off but I’m glad the Panthers fucked up by not draft CJ Stroud.

Getting 3 healthy and available All Pro players to ride the Jet to Jacksonville has got to be a pretty great feeling before the game, eh?

Huge assumption that Frank Reich wouldn't be out here running Stroud into the ground as well.

In Buffalo...the OC is the "get back" coach.

Apparently.

Apparently he’s the one fumbling the ball and throwing all the picks too.

In all seriousness, something is off with Allen this year. It’s like he and CJ Stroud switched bodies. Allen looks like a rookie while Stroud is playing like an every-year Pro Bowler.

I agree although it seems to me that he's been in the pocket more this season which I don't think is his game. That said, he missed one throw late in the game when he escaped to his right which would have been a big play and the receiver was wide open.

Rich Bissacia was poached by the Chargers from Bucs during the off season after that horrendous 2010 season.

Yep, I do remember that now. Gave him an AHC title too. Their special teams cost them games.

White has been a great receiver. I think he has definitely missed some holes as a runner. Don't remember anyone saying they wanted to get rid of him?
