Re: Week 5 Discussion
Hoping that rookie in HOU can take care of ATL, DET demolishes CAR, and Mac Jones somehow is competent enough to beat NO. All possible IMO. I'll take that as a bye week W!
Re: Week 5 Discussion
Houston is definitely building something with CJ Stroud, so they might be favored against Atlanta.

Not much to get excited about. Hope Carolina puts up a solid fight and at least wears Detroit down some for us.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
I'm interested to see what happens to Burrow. He claims he's not injured and his calf is fine, but he's been, by most advanced metrics, a bottom 2 passer in the NFL.
He has no deep ball, he can't move in the pocket, and he's playing scared. I watched a portion of their game where multiple times he saw Chase open deep, looked like he was going to throw it, and then checked down (inaccurately)...it has to be injury.
A lot of Bengals fans want him to rest and hope that it is injury and he gets better, but at 1-3, things could spiral quickly.

Burrow is 100% injured. He's a tough guy and doesn't like to make excuses. But come on man. You're way too good to be playing as poorly as you are. There's no shame in sitting if not healthy. He's hurting his team more by trying to tough it out.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
Bengals/Burrow fucked up by starting him week 1. He should've been recovering this whole time so he could at least salvage the season. Now, they're 1-3 and simply can't afford to shut him down as they're already looking at a WC berth at best. Sucks for Bengals fans since they're looking down the barrel of a lost season and likely the last season with both Tee Higgins and Chase on the same field, especially with Burrows enormous contract.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
Kind of sucks we have such an early bye but that actually turned into a fortuitous event for us since we're pretty banged up. Hopefully we're completely healthy when the Lions come to town and keeping building upon the success we've had so far.
I really wish we didn't play the Lions this year though. I really like them and want them to succeed this year so watching the Bucs beat them will be a bitter sweet thing.

Cowboys/49ers is a great primetime matchup and the other two this week I couldn’t care less about.

I wouldn't waste a lot of time worrying about it.
Not saying, just saying.
That said 3-1 going into the break is one hell of a good start.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
That Chicago/WShington game on Thursday should be a lot of fun. The worst collapse in a while and a franchise in shambles on a short week while a player is being sat for probably realizing that.
Re: Week 5 Discussion
Washington is a decent team, they should handle CHI with relative ease.

Chicago needs to blow it all up. Bad hires at GM, HC, roster, everything

Luke Goedeke shout-out there at the end. Not enough of us giving him the credit he’s due for his transition to RT where he has been quite good so far.
Re: Week 5 Discussion
The thing is: I don’t usually judge players, and never really have, i don’t play fantasy, I don’t do any of that. The Bears are seriously poorly run. Justin Fields has issues that are difficult to fix unless he works with a QB expert. Their receiver room is a nightmare, they have no one of awesomeness.
And this game is a terrible nightmare for both teams.
Re: Week 5 Discussion
The Bears had 2 sacks in 4 games?? Thats unfathomable. Isn't Eberflus a defensive genius?

Looks like the Bears players are trying their best to keep their HC around for another week.

The spectre of Dick Buktus is looking out for his old team tonight.
Re: Week 5 Discussion
Washington's defense is tremendously inept. 4th straight game they've allowed at least 30 points.

Sam Howell has got to learn to live another down. He's gonna get himself hurt taking all these hits.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
I know the Bears are perhaps the worst team in the league, but I do like the combo of Fields and Eberflus. Could go either way for the both of them, but do hope they figure it out. Fields and the D both had their best performances of the season yesterday.
Re: Week 5 Discussion
Solid? Lol, once Washington scored they never got closer than being down by 10. This was never a close game.
