I don't think anything changes. We beat 2 bad teams and lost to a good team. We aren't good, but we aren't the Bears bad.
Hopefully we can have a good season still.

Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
Mike makes a couple early catches and that game is so much tighter. The defense doesn’t get so worn down. Etc. That and an Otton drop really hurt early.
But, we’re not in their class where it matters.

Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
Mike Evans dropped an easy TD and it really ended the game right there, he left the field way early and really only had anything on the drive when the game was over. Calijah Kancey is a wasted pick, he told the coaches he wasn't ready to go simply because he didn't want to compete against the Eagles OL.
Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
The call from our endzone was STUPID. Our O-line had no push all night and you run it up the gut when they are expecting. We do not have that kinda team. Canales made a mistake there. I hope he learns. Calling a punt would have been a better call.

Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
Injuries really hurt our defense tonight, Devin White is not healthy. Hopefully kancy and Davis come back next week and Dean isn’t out very long. This loss isn’t the end of the world, we can still compete in our division but if we want to compete against top tier teams we have to be completely healthy.

The Super Bowl isn't won in September. Id love to get them in the playoffs again.

White should have been benched, injured or not. There were maybe 10 plays where he didn't even try. I bet Sapp calls him out again.ImYourHuckleBerry831 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 10:17 pm Injuries really hurt our defense tonight, Devin White is not healthy. Super aggrivating seeing David attempt to get in every play and White pretending to reach for a player while not running.

The dedication to obvious, up the gut run plays was also upsetting.

Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
- Remember when we all were mad at Leftwich last year for making Brady play heroball to pull our offense out of the fire? This year we're doing the same thing, just with Mike Evans. Mike has about half of our receiving yards and has accounted for over half our touchdowns. Yes, those drops hurt, but without Mike our offense would struggle to score 10 ppg. Hell, even with Mike we barely scored 11, and that's with him scoring our only tuddy.
- The only thing worse than losing your two starting corners is making their backups play 15 yards off the ball and allowing AJ Brown and his friends to play pitch and catch against street free agents. All they had to do was target NotMcCollum and it was free yardage in the passing game.
- Calling those stupid inside runs that failed and failed and failed again has dropped us from the second-worst running game by yards-per-carry to worst in the league (we were 2.9, today's 2.4 drops us below the Texans). So much for fixing the run game.
- There's other stuff I could mention but whatevs. Our offense is runs up the middle for minimal yardage, shallow passing bullshit that doesn't work, and overthrows to Mike Evans hoping he makes highlight reel catches to win us the game. So long as that remains true, we cannot sustain any measure of success over the course of a season.

Time to trade for Jonathan Taylor? We need a running game!
Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
Well there goes our perfect season!
Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
What were people expecting?
I know I was peddling hopium with the best of them but taking off the pewter shades for awhile, this was a hella hard match up most of us had penciled in as an easy L. Even with two turns overs, two possession game in the 4th? Like someone else said, unlike some other games recently this one never felt awful out of hand. Before that 9 min drive you thought "if we can get the ball back and score..." and the fact that you thought that at all speaks volumes.
Evans didn't have a great game. They came out in great rhythm meanwhile it took us far too long to settle down. An already down defense got hurt even more, who the hell is Pitts? But the dudes kept fighting. In the rain. Tired. There was a lot of heart on that field. A lot of really close, finger tip plays that could have really tilted the game in another direction. The closing play of Pitts on Brown pretty much summed this up.
A lot of aggression by the defense, that was good. Always love seeing those punch out attempts, though they cost us more than a few tackles in the rain tonight.
Remember how you felt after getting torched by the Chiefs in the regular season in 2020. *peace sign*
Overall the biggest takeaway is that it feels the locker room is more mad at themselves for everything they left on the field rather than despondent or disheartened. That is a huge. The belief that you can close that gap by getting back to work. Speaks to leadership.

100%, no.
1. Taylor wouldn't be the same guy with these play calls and run blocking.
2. They want a massive haul...we aren't on the cusp of greatness to mortgage picks for a RB who wants to be paid.
3....Hell no.

The Buccaneers are better than most expected them to be. That did not change with this game.Doctor wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 10:30 pm What were people expecting?

We are not Bears/Broncos bad...neither are the Cardinals, but we also aren't a contender.
The season is still young.

Only other dude left is Vaughn and he’s in the doghouse. Either way, Canales needs to figure out how to get it going. Bootlegs, screens, something for fuck sake!uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 10:30 pm100%, no.

This was an example where Canales should have broken with Bowles and gone more with the passing game. Hopefully he learns how to deal with Bowles and take over game calling when it doesn’t align to being as balanced as Bowles likes but is needed.

Re: Week 3 Rapid Reactions: Bucs lose to the Eagles
We all expected it. We're just not as good as the Eagles and the injuries didn't help.
Evans is starting to accumulate some real ugly drop lowlights. Not sure what's up with that.
CD3 and Dean both injured, again. We simply aren't allowed to field a healthy secondary for any length of time it seems. Must've been part of the bargain we struck for 2020.
Tonight sucked and was painful to watch, but at the end of the day we can take solace in the fact that we're not Broncos fans.

Our offensive line struggled to block those DTs. People who are talking about trading for Indy's RB should be talking about trading for their guard Nelson instead.
