Feel like all 3 of the 2-0 NFC South teams finally get tested.
Re: Week 3 Discussion
Niners by a thousand.
Re: Week 3 Discussion
I think both of the teams the Falcons and Saints play get equally tested as well. Hype surrounding the Packers in the Jordan Love era and Dan Campbell's Lions squad.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:30 am Feel like all 3 of the 2-0 NFC South teams finally get tested.

That SNF matchup...Woof!
Re: Week 3 Discussion
why the double headers on Monday? I thought that was only a week 1 thing, to which I thought this year got pushed back because wk 1 was 9/11.. it was the only thing 'happening' that had any logic as to why the doubleheader didn't occur on the 'standard' wk 1.

There are 3 this year. Week 2, 3, and 14.Noles1724 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 10:02 am why the double headers on Monday? Re: Week 3 Discussion
I like the double headers. I have two TVs on my patio so got to watch both games. The staggered starts meant there was football the majority of the time. Typically, MNF/SNF is unbearable due to the constant commercial breaks. Love that we're at 7:15 this Monday.

Here is my question, are we on the same level as the Eagles?

Re: Week 3 Discussion
My answer from another thread:
The easy answer is not yet obv, since they’re continuing to get Ws after their great year and we are just starting something new on one side of the ball.Deja Entendu wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 10:11 amI think it’s too soon to tell, but after watching all four of the games: it’s absolutely closer than people expected.
Their game against the Vikings was pretty similar — Eagles had frustratingly stalled drives until later and the Vikings continued to shoot themselves in the foot.
Will it continue, who knows? I sure hope so. Mon will give a good glimpse.

Re: Week 3 Discussion
Where do we not stack up?
Offensive line.
Probably RB at the moment until Swift is injured.
Defenses are a push and ours might be better if fully healthy.
Coaching. But, I’ve liked what we’ve seen so far this year.
QB? Hurts is certainly a better runner. Don’t know that he’s a better pure passer.
I’d say they’re definitely better on paper, but that’s why they play the games…

Re: Week 3 Discussion
Based on how everyone has played THIS season, I don’t know that the Eagles are tier 1.
I think the most complete NFC teams so far are San Fran and Dallas. Philly looks to be a notch below them.
From the games so far, I wouldn’t put us 3 levels below them either. 1 level? Sure. 2? Eh, there’s a debate to be had there, that really isn’t worth it 2 games in when they play each other this week.

This is more of a pick em sheet. But it's in EST. I couldn't find that specific one in EST.

It's really not a big deal. I was just curious. Thanks, though.

Re: Week 3 Discussion
I would not be surprised if all three NFC South 2-0 teams are 3-0 next week. Though the toughest game is against the Eagles.

Re: Week 3 Discussion
The outcome of the game is the only true definitive that matters. Wasn’t there a year when Brady was QB for the Patriots that the Bucs were the only team (or maybe one of two teams) that beat them that year? On that Sunday we were on their level. Anything else is paper and irrelevant for our team.

So being on someone's level is only temporary. Got it.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:46 pmThe outcome of the game is the only true definitive that matters. Preach! You play the game on Sundays. Everything else is smoke.
I'll remind y'all, Brady didn't win this.

@Bootz Hey man, is Mike Greene getting better? You know - our starting LDE.
Re: Week 3 Discussion
I understand you are being very objective with your grading of teams within tiers and I would not have disagreed with you a couple of weeks back.
But I'd like to know unit by unit where you think Eagles are decisively better. The only area where Eagles have a decisive advantage over the Bucs is their O-line imo. Not QB, not WRs and not D-line and definitely not the secondary. That being said, what we thought was a huge weakness coming into this season (Bucs O-line) has actually looked average to solid.
Eagles have momentum absolutely in their favor and this is by far the biggest advantage they hold over most NFC teams. By momentum I mean the absolute faith that they are the big dogs of NFC and NFL. They started off last year beating up average to below average teams in the beginning part of the year and started to believe in themselves that they are capable of bigger things. That winning mentality is what I believe won them especially against the Patriots, just the awareness that they are a good team and can feed off of each other's strengths. Bucs had a similar confidence boost beating up on bad teams the last month of 2020 season and it was during that month that Brady got his Patriots glory days mojo back.
I think Bucs are playing some cohesive team football themselves currently. They still have the air of a bad team, which is why they struggled to put the Bears away and made it close. But they came out with a win and I'm happy that they will be taking the field against Eagles with the mindset that they can win this.
Tldr: I'm going to sip on my Kool-Aid.

Re: Week 3 Discussion
The Bucs never beat Brady. Since the Pats were always winning the division the Bucs didn't get extra games against them. Just every 4 years. In 2005 28-0 In 2009 35-7 In 2013 23-3 In 2017 19-14. Bucs had a chance in the last one. Folk missed 3 FG's. The only time the Bucs ever had a lead against a Brady Pats team was when they went up 3-0 in 2013. They inched a bit closer every year and Brady knew it. He knew the Bucs would beat him eventually in 2021 therefore he switched sides. It creates a cool quiz though. What other QB's played the Bucs at least 4 times and won every game? Or QB's with the biggest point differentials against the Bucs.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:46 pmThe outcome of the game is the only true definitive that matters. Re: Week 3 Discussion
Were the Bucs that good, or were the Vikings and Bears that bad? I think you need at least 6 games played before you start ranking teams.
