Re: ***Official 2024 Draft Thread!!***
If Evans leaves in free agency, we need to draft a wide receiver as our priority, then a cornerback.
Re: ***Official 2024 Draft Thread!!***
@mdb1958 Who you looking at this year in the late 7th round to UDFA this year?
Most hated man in America.
Re: ***Official 2024 Draft Thread!!***
Aren't you worried about Mitchell's drop in productivity in 2023?

We appear to be zeroing in on defenders:
Saddle up for defense, my dudes. Lots of edge defenders and backers. Other sources (like nfltraderumors) confirm our defensive focus. The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is underway and the Bucs are busy meeting with draft prospects in Indianapolis this week. Each NFL team is allowed to conduct 45 formal interviews, where they can meet with prospects for 18 minutes. That’s a recent change, as three years ago, NFL teams were allowed 60 15-minute formal interviews.
Tampa Bay’s area scouts and position coaches can conduct informal interviews with more than 45 players, but the 45 formal interviews are in front of the Bucs coordinators, in addition to head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht. New offensive coordinator Liam Coen is not in Indianapolis, as he is installing his offense with Tampa Bay’s offensive coaching staff.
Pewter Report is compiling a list of draft prospects we can confirm have met with the Bucs in Indianapolis – either formally or informally. Keep in mind that the Bucs did not meet with first-round pick Calijah Kancey the NFL Scouting Combine last year, nor did the team have Kancey in for a Top 30 visit. Tampa Bay completely disguised their interest in Kancey last offseason.
This Combine Tracker will be updated daily during the week in Indy, so check back often. Prospects who have been formally interviewed appear in bold text. Updates will be noted with two asterisks (**) and italicization.

You still might be right. If we do get Evans and Mayfield back, we still have a big void at edge. Shaq is leaving a big hole and unless we can find a way to afford one of the stud edge guys in FA, we almost have to draft a guy.
They likely looking at options to replace White and possibly LVD too. While LVD doesn't sound like he wants to play anywhere else, he's much closer to the end than I like to admit.
As always, Licht loves drafting DB's. A SS or CB is a near mortal lock somewhere in this draft.
Re: ***Official 2024 Draft Thread!!***
As far as 1st round goes.
If o-linemen reach us, someone is seeing something.
If WR reach us, someone has some type of concern
RB - don't care
TE - don't care
QB - don't care

Was over on Yahoo sports reading the top 50 free agents and where they go - well we lose everybody and keep Mayfield, I can't say the story made me feel very good.
Re: ***Official 2024 Draft Thread!!***
I would actually be pretty happy with Bo Nix or JJ Mccarthy
Re: ***Official 2024 Draft Thread!!***
No to JJ Mccarthy
https://www.pff.com/news/college-footba ... arterbacksBO NIX, OREGON
Stat: 82.3% Adjusted Completion Percentage (2nd in Power Five)
All Bo Nix needed was a change of scenery to become one of the best quarterbacks in college football. After struggling early on at Auburn, he transferred to Oregon and posted career-high numbers across the board.
Nix was in the Heisman discussion for most of last season and should be right back in that conversation this year. He is one of the most accurate passers in college football as well, placing second in the Power Five in adjusted completion percentage and making only eight turnover-worthy plays all season.

I am sure considering JTS lack of production is weighing on the minds of Bowles and Licht.Terry Tate wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 4:01 amYou still might be right. SirVocea Dennis is clearly here to replace one of them. LVD has said twice in the last week that he wants to come back to the Bucs, they may get a ILB in the 3rd of 4th rounds, but I don't see earlier.
We better get a SS and OL, hopefully a natural guard and center

@kaimaru why not?

Kool Aid McKinstry found out he had a fracture in his foot. It's amazing the stuff they find on people at the Combine that ruin their draft stock

Re: ***Official 2024 Draft Thread!!***
There was this other dude who was an All American DT at Texas. Rodrique Wright was his name. He was a sure fire 1st round pick and at the Combine, they found a tear in his shoulder that would pretty much sideline him for his first year. He sunk all the way to the 7th round and never really got his footing in the NFL because he didn't get that many reps.Phantom wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 10:13 amBuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 8:58 am Kool Aid McKinstry found out he had a fracture in his foot. More on McCarthy
McCarthy, who piloted Michigan to the national title last season, told reporters at a Friday press conference that he will throw when quarterbacks get their turn to work out in Indianapolis on Saturday. McCarthy said that he is dealing with hamstring tightness, however, and will not run the 40-yard-dash or do any of the jumping drills.
Michigan will have a Pro Day workout on March 22, so McCarthy could target that date as an opportunity to do his other work.
ESPN NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. isn’t there yet, but he has moved McCarthy up his draft board. (subscription required) He had McCarthy previously slated at No. 16 to the Seattle Seahawks, but he’s since moved him up four spots, expecting him to get picked by the Denver Broncos.
12. Denver Broncos – J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan Wolverines
I’m following my co-workers and slotting in a quarterback to the Broncos. Why? This might be their only chance to add a high-ceiling signal-caller prospect this offseason — and not mortgage their future to do it. They’re almost certainly going to cut Russell Wilson, leaving a void on the depth chart. They don’t have the cap space to try to add a veteran. Moving up from No. 12 might require a future first-rounder that would hamper them down the road. So why not take a shot on McCarthy?
Look, this would be a reach by my rankings, but I could see why a team in the top 15 would talk itself into McCarthy. He has an intriguing skill set as a passer. He will test extremely well during combine workouts and impress coaches and front office execs in interviews. He wasn’t asked to carry the Wolverines with his arm the past two seasons, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t do it. Sure, McCarthy needs some refinement, but Sean Payton could get the best out of him in Denver.

There was a list that came out yesterday saying that there are 10 teams that may draft a QB in the first round assuming what happens and free agency and we weren't even on the list
