Bama = ratings. It's all they care about
Watching FSU last night was embarrassing. Any objective person knows they didn’t deserve to be in the final 4.

The committee did the right thing.

Agreed FSU has no business in the final 4. I would have them 7th. Both in terms of what they have done and the proverbial “best team right now” argument

Bama vs Mich will definitely be top 5
Washington seems to play to their competition, so I actually think they can make a game of it. Spread is also not that large. Texas' pass D is vulnerable, as Dillon Gabriel showed, so Penix may be able to make some plays against them. I think Texas wins, especially with the game in New Orleans, but I think it's within a TD.

I think it will be fairly close too, i just dont see it drawing good ratings (relatively speaking)

What more was FSU supposed to do? You wanna see a massacre? Watch the Washington game.
I mean, if you think it's going to be a massacre, bet on it. It's only 4.5. If it was FSU-Texas or FSU-UM, it probably would have been -14.

I feel bad for FSU. I like Norvell. But the injury to Travis makes all the difference in the world. They've looked like crap offensively the last two weeks without him. They would gain about as many yards against Michigan as Iowa did last night..if they played UM.
Exactly. Nobody wants to see that. It isn’t compelling.

It would be about as interesting as whatever NFC South team gets smoked in the wild card round.

Can Michigan and JJ beat Alabama? That’s compelling.

They have a right to be. The Committee made a mistake. Can you imagine the NFL not allowing a team that won their division into the playoffs to select a different team? This is why the playoff is a joke.

The NFL doesn’t have a 4 team playoff.

That doesnt seem like a great analogy. Bama won their conference too

Im not sure what you are suggesting. You think FSU should be #4?
Absolutely. Undefeated Power 5 conference champ. This is the 1st time that formula hasn't gotten a team into the playoff.

Conference Championships matter. Starting next year, no matter what, if you win your conference you're in the final 12.
Dude you are crying more than my best friend who is the biggest FSU fan on the face of the earth. Even he said the better team got in. Grab a tissue and quit being a cry-baby about it. Good God we have some babies here.

No words minced..

FSU AD Michael Alford sends a scorched-earth statement to the NCAA after the Seminoles' exclusion.

"The consequences of giving in to a narrative of the moment are destructive, far reaching, and permanent. Not just for Florida State, but college football as a whole."

"The argument of whether a team is the 'most deserving OR best' is a false equivalence. It renders the season up to yesterday irrelevant and significantly damages the legitimacy of the College Football Playoff. The 2023 Florida State Seminoles are the epitome of a total TEAM. To eliminate them from a chance to compete for a national championship is an unwarranted injustice that shows complete disregard and disrespect for their performance and accomplishments. It is unforgiveable."

"The fact that this team has continued to close out victories in dominant fashion facing our current quarterback situation should have ENHANCED our case to get a playoff berth EARNED on the field. Instead, the committee decided to elevate themselves and 'make history' today by departing from what makes this sport great by excluding an undefeated Power 5 conference champion for the first time since the advent of the BCS/CFP era that began 25 years ago. This ridiculous decision is a departure from the competitive expectations that have stood the test of time in college football."

"Wins matter. Losses matter. Those that compete in the arena know this. Those on the committee who also competed in the sport and should have known this have forgotten it. Today, they changed the way success is assessed in college football, from a tangible metric - winning on the field - to an intangible, subjective one. Evidently, predicting the future matters more."

"For many of us, today's decision by the committee has forever damaged the credibility of the institution that is the College Football Playoff. And, saddest of all, it was self-inflicted. They chose predictive competitiveness over proven performance; subjectivity over fact. They have become a committee of prognosticators. They have abandoned their responsibility by discarding their purpose – to evaluate performance on the field."

"Our players, coaches, and fans - as well as all those who love this sport - deserve better. The committee failed college football today.”

Atleast they weren't emotionally invested in the preseason.

Can only imagine the guilt JT must be dealing with.

I don't know I'm so happy. Next year the schedule sets up for us to really make a run.

Brown clearly couldn't beat him out this year, what is to say Keinholz or Noland will? McCord isn't on the level of the past five or six QB's but he is 11-1, had the team ranked #1 and has only a six point loss to the #1 team when the defense played like crap and Day called an awful game.

The bowl game is gonna be interesting -- hopefully one of those two can step up. I'm sure they will be without lots of starters who sit it out to prep for draft.

It’s easy to be a game manager when you only have 2-3 real games a season, and 3+ first round picks at WR. He couldn’t step up against high level competition.

I think OSU should bring in a veteran QB from the portal. I don’t think you can promise anything, but it’s a good insurance policy.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even get too concerned about bringing in elite QBs from the HS level. Get a 4* every season for depth purposes, and buy the rest via portal. You’re recruiting your own rostered guys anyways to keep them from leaving (which they do anyways).

If you’re OSU, flex your payroll and steal QBs from mid-tier P5 programs, the best G5 programs, and guys from elite programs with crowded QB rooms. Let them do the vetting.

Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, Joe Burrow. All transfers who produced bigly.

who?

there isn't one on the market that I would want. i don't want ward, moore, howard, van dyke.

the only two i would even consider are riley and uigaleli and i'm not sure they would win the spot so why would they come here in the first place

day took an awful approach with mccord IMO. he played it far too safe all year. we could have attacked a LOT more in our games that were certain wins. i think he is one of the reasons mccord didn't progress as much as he could have. again, mccord isn't on the same level as stroud, fields, or the other recent qb's but we could have went undefeated with him.
