Howz about you use your in depth knowledge and let me look at your choices. I got to look at Shedeur Sanders.
I was giving you a chance to do some of the work you task us with but whatever.

Shedeur is going to be in the 1st round conversation when he declares. What I saw was a guy who was a field general. He made reads pre and post snap. Went through progressions. Delivered the ball without hesitation and did so accurately. He’s not a runner and Deion isn’t trying to make him one either. Let me know what you find out.
Most hated man in America.

I didnt get to watch, but when you look at the box score, it’s one of those games whose final score simply doesnt make sense

Clemson had more passing yards, more rushing yards, way more first downs, more TOP, fewer penalties, granted had one more TO but still that doesn’t suggest 28-7

Clemson shot themselves in the foot all game. They had the field goal that was blocked in the first half, then the second half Duke clamped them down on defense. Just look at their first three offensive drives of the second half:

- Drive one they drove 71 yards and had their field goal blocked AGAIN.
- Drive two goes 62 yards and they fumble at the 7 yard line.
- Drive three they get 48 yards, all the way down to the one yard line, and then fumble AGAIN, and the defense flipped the field with a 55 yard return on the scoop.

Clemson basically threw away 181 yards of offense on ball security and mental mistakes in those three drives. And their next (and last) three drives of the game were a turnover on downs, an interception on a tip, and a turnover on downs.

Credit where it's due, Duke played a physical brand of football and locked down a top ten team with their defense, but Clemson was self-destructive all night. It's hard to beat the other team if you can't even beat yourselves.

Dabo was really late on the portal (has he even arrived?).

It’s the #1 most important aspect of running a program now.

Dabo believes in building his family instead of using the portal. He exclusively relies on high school recruiting then works to keep and build those players.

Sounds nice and wholesome in concept. It will kill the program.

I know people who believe NIL is the thing that will ruin college ball, I believe the transfer portal is more harmful...

Thoughts??

I can’t stand either of them, as currently formatted. But I also couldn’t stand coaches making $10 million a year and kids making nothing. So I’m stuck.

Something needed to change, to be sure. But they went totally off the reservation with it, and there’s no putting it back into the genie bottle.

The only path forward is for the SEC and Big Ten to break away from the NCAA. Create a super league. Make it a full-fledged minor-league system with benefits and money for every roster spot.

I like both. Both give the athletes more power.

The NIL money doesnt come from the academic side which is all the better. Let the kids make some money. The transfer portal is absolutely necessary given how quickly coaches jump ship.

As soon as they started breaking up these conferences and instituting NIL, that became inevitable. If the NCAA doesn’t exist to scrutinize an IHOP breakfast, now that players are getting paid, they cease to serve any sort of real function. They’re finished.

And that’s fine. You know why? Because calling it amateur sports at this level is silly. Pay them.

The NCAA had a chance to evolve and chose to ignore the inevitable. Too bad for them.

100%

Let’s be honest … any monopolistic regulatory institution suffers from this. There is zero incentive for them to change or evolve to dynamic environments. (it happens on the academic side as well with the accrediting agencies as well)

The NCAA should have found flexibility in football and basketball. Because now they’re at risk of losing all of their sports. Many of the other sports could’ve easily continue living under the NCAA.

I’m happy to be wrong. But I’m not gonna trust Texas to be good at anything until they prove it a few times.

Agree with this.

There's going to be more parity in the game. Smaller programs are going to get athletes they otherwise couldn't get and who doesn't love upsets?
