Pierre Desir and first-year safety Chris Cooper to their practice squad.

Former Jaguars long-snapper Carson Tinker to the active roster.

With Whitehead's injury, do you think it is the hamstring or the shoulder?

Gronk could still be the best all around TE in the NFL. Elite hands, elite toughness, elite blocking, good ability to get open despite losing his speed.

He is leading the kickers in scoring right now.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed inside linebacker Kevin Minter on the reserve/COVID-19 list and wide receiver Travis Jonsen on the practice squad/COVID-19 list. In addition, cornerback Herb Miller has been released from the practice squad.

Gronk looks great. Better than at anytime last season.

But Kelce is breaking the mold of what a TE can be.

I'm glad that we have an official Bucs 2021 season thread to isolate all the Bucs 2021 season discussion in the Buccaneers discussion forum from the Bucs 2021 season discussion going on.

I wonder why in week 2 we protect Herb Miller on the practice squad and then week 3 we cut him

If I need to refresh my memory, I won't need to go looking thru 48 threads trying to find it. Didnt we always do it that way?

Idk why but I don't think Sherman is a good fit here.

Sherman is a zone CB and while Bowles does play some zone (all teams do) he also calls alot of m2m coverages (as all teams who blitz alot do).

Idk. I would've much rather done what the Saints did a couple weeks ago and traded a 3rd for Bradley Roby.

Agreed. I don’t think Sherman’s the right guy to target, seems like a “name,” but if we do grab him - here’s to hoping he’s got enough left in the tank for one more run.

49ers should trade for Marlon Mack. It won't take much to acquire him and his one-cut running style is perfectly suited for the Shanahan offense.

Would he be an upgrade over anything we have at RB?
Only until he puts on a Bucs jersey, then he'll suck and anyone not on the team would be an upgrade. ;)

Him for ROJO, but that is highly unlikely IMO. Other than that, no, no interest whatsoever.

Not sure what I’d want to trade for a RB, but yes I would like him here.

I don't think I would trade for Mack. He had a torn Achilles last year and can't see the field this year despite being presumably healthy.

Moreover, I don't think that changing running backs would result in an improvement to our running game. I'd put our problems there as 85% scheme and 15% talent, somewhere around there. You could put Derrick Henry or Dalvin Cook in our backfield and I doubt anything would change.

Our scheme of turning around and handing it off so the RB can smash into a wall of bodies doesn’t work all that well anymore. We do it so the defense residents play action.

A different RB, unless they’re great+ wouldn’t really matter.

The run blocking has sucked. You're the most qualified person here to tell us exactly why. But the holes haven't been there. When they have been, neither guy has been seeing them. There hasn't been very much meat on the bone, but Fournette hasn't been tearing it off when it has been.

As for improving the run game quickly, I think you'd accomplish that - nominally - by getting Gio on the field more, assuming he's healthy. His smaller size means it'll be easier for him to hit the small holes and creases (TWSS), and he has a little bit of initial quickness that the other two do not.

Mack? I like Mack, but for reasons stated, I don't see the point.

I mean, they've shown their ass on this one so they're not getting fair value for him at all. I wouldn't offer multiple assets for a player they're likely to release if they do not find a trade partner; especially when I subscribe to the @MJW school of, "if we can block, we can run. If we can't block, Sweetness would look like Peyton Barber."

Funny you mention Peyton Barber. He's still in the league. There's a reason why he's a backup.

Peyton Barber is REAL good at 3 yard runs.
