I’m surprised.

Think he put out feelers to contenders and didn’t get the response he wanted?

Now that it's real I'm suddenly much more sad about the reality of no longer having Brady in the league anymore.

I started watching football when I was around 13 or 14 back in 97' but I barely understood the game. Then this Brady guy came along and has been the main protagonist of the NFL for as long as I've watched football for the most part. I really don't know a football world without Brady being front and center.

He's the undisputed GOAT, no matter what the talking heads will try to push over the next couple weeks and after the Super Bowl. We had the honor of him winning his 7th with us and the ride was a glorious one to partake in.

Enjoy your retirement Brady, you earned it.

Rodgers is the only great QB remaining from the old guard, right?

Yeap. He's the last member of the greatest era of QB ever.

Sad day.

Matt Ryan is still out there if you ever considered him great. I mean he did win an MVP, something Rivers or Ben never did.

Never trust a Tom Brady retirement that takes place in February. Just sayin'.

Nah I think this one is much different. My theory is Giselle leaked his "retirement" last year to strong arm Brady and force his hand. Then reports indicate he un-retired without talking to her. Then Tom is hit with surprised divorce papers in the offseason.

I don't think retiring was ever his choice last year.

This time it is his decision and he'll stick to it.

Bittersweet day forever grateful that he came here and won us a ring and gave us something to be happy about during a national lockdown no less. Sad that this signals an end of an era I remember watching the sb in 01 when I was 11 and he has been the face of the nfl ever since pretty much.

Thanks for the memories Tom.

This one feels final. He didn't play 2022 like a guy who was all in. His levels in preparation, focus, all dropped. On field play wasn't where it was. And he looked like a guy who did not want to get hit at all.

I think this one is final.

He's gonna swear Brady is coming back up until next year's SB.

Just like that, the Buccaneers are 1PM getting the worst announcers unless they play a winning team and are picking top 5 with hopefully a new coaching staff and new GM.

There you go you ungrateful scums. All you put in trask guys, benchem, and lose out guys got what you wanted. We are in for a nice bumpy ride. This team has the play-makers, just not a Captain to steer the ship.

Trivia Time!

Who caught Brady's last TD pass?
Who caught Brady's last endzone pass?
Who caught Brady's last pass period?
Who was the last player to intercept Brady?
Who was the last player to sack Brady?

Nah, it was the Bucs, maybe the Patriots, and retirement. All that other stuff was media fluff.

No other team was able to talk to Brady until March. They didn't want to lose a draft choice like Miami did. Brady made this decision on his own.

Apparently it was the Bucs or retirement according to folks close to Brady.

I think the time he spent with his kids last week probably helped make his decision. I also think if he were to come back it would have been here because of his kids, and he didn’t like the pieces we have in place right now (I can’t blame him). He probably just felt deep inside it’s the right choice, and he’s probably right.

I still think he has the arm…but his mobility this past season was awful and it’s only gonna get worse. He actually moved better in 2020 and 2021 than this year. It really showed in that Cowboys game.

He can still play. Whether or not he was willing to take the shots and play with bad protection…

Thanks for coming to Tampa Bay, Tom. Three straight seasons of playoffs and a Superbowl as the cherry on top. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Little piece of trivia for y'all: The Bucs have 11 playoff wins in their history since 1976. Tom Brady accounted for five of them.

End of an era for sure. I wish him the best in his future endeavors, whatever they may be.

Sad to see him go, but I fully understand. I wish him the best in retirement. I truly believe it is for real this time and I look forward to his career as a Fox Sports broadcaster.

Thank you, Tom, for everything you did the last 3 seasons. Thank you bringing a Lombardi to Tampa giving us great memories.

Also thank you for making a quick decision.

I'm kinda surprised he's ending it on a somewhat bad note. Sucks his only losing season was his last and with us. Then again that could be all the proof he needed that it's time to hang em. Didn't wanna go through that possibility again. Between that and his own struggles this season guess he figured it's time. And that's just the on field stuff.

How many GOATs hang around too long because they don’t want to end on a bad note? Damn near all of them. Then the flip side is if they end on a good note (like 2020 or 2021) they will wonder if they’re leaving too soon.

Chances of Brady doing private 7 on 7’s at age 50 and the rumors of a comeback?

I’m saying high. Lol.

I think this is the right move for him. Everyone liked to talk about where he should go next, but I just didn’t think swapping teams at 46 for one more long shot at a ring was worth it. Dude has nothing to prove and I’m glad that Donovan Smith and Luke Goedeke didn’t get him seriously injured this past season.
