Exactly and 2 years running Mahomes has been top 2 in annual cap hit values. Including this season #1 this past season amongst QBs.

But please continue to tell us how him having the highest cap hits helps the team.
But isn’t it in the 40m range for the majority of the remaining years? Into his 30s
If I knew how to screenshot I would. But no, it's more. $44mil+ to $62mil+. But yes, this deal goes well into 30s.

That said though this could all be for nothing. The Chiefs are reportedly looking into giving him a raise and making him (again) the highest paid QB in football.

If that’s the case, then it won’t be team friendly…ever.

“So, we’re gonna give you allllll the term. Insofar as years. So you’re set. And in return, we’ll get a discount in the later years.

Just kidding. We’ll give you a raise then too.”

It never was. If it were, Tyreek Hill would still be there. But there's a reason Mahomes is throwing to a bunch of #2/#3 receivers and Travis Kelce.

For Burrow to make happen what he's referring to, he'd have to go Geno Smith here. And we all know that ain't happening.

The normal rules about "team friendly" don't really apply to Mahomes IMHO. Normally I'm all for busting out the spreadsheet. But he's like Michael Jordan - his presence means that a) you're going to be competing for a title pretty much every year and b) he's probably worth ten times as much to the organization and the city than whatever you're paying him.

As far as I'm concerned, until he declines his contract should simply read, "$1 more than the highest paid QB APY this year."

As a result of Mahomes salary, the Chiefs were unable to resign LT Orlando Brown. Orlando Brown signed with the Bengals. The Chiefs signed Donovan Smith to replace him at LT.

Which is sort of where we are now with his deal. I believe added motivation for the Chiefs to get a new deal for him is the fact that his cap # is getting so high that it's making restructuring and pushing money into the future unfeasible.

His cap hit this year is $39.6mil. The next closest is Ryan Tannehill at $36.6mil(That's why Robinson is gone). But looking into the future, every cap hit for Mahomes is over $44mil. So this notion that his contract saves money for the team is and has always been a false narrative.

I am guessing:

Vikings - L
Bears - W
Eagles - L
Saints - L
Lions - L
Falcons - W
Bills - L
Texans - W
Titans - W
49ers - L
Colts - L
Panthers - L
Falcons - L
Packers - W
Jaguars - W
Saints - W
Panthers - L

7 - 10

But until training camp, etc it is too early to really do that.

I wonder how many fans of other teams have the Bucs listed as a win for their team, and how many have the Bucs beating their team.

That is one of the areas of the team I feel better about. I also think the offense will be helped by the change at OC. Mostly, that is due to thinking Leftwhich is awful.

So we’ll be worse than we were with Leftwich.

Doesn’t bode well for Canales or the narrative that Lefty was the problem.

Kinda not right to compare the two. I mean one got to work with the GOAT. Poor Canole has to suffer with Baker and Trask.

You don't make this move without expecting improvements. That's the bottom line here from OBPs perspective. Regression does this coaching staff zero favors. Fair or not, 3-14 gets a house cleaning.

I can't tell who wants to tear the team apart faster, management or the fans. Well no, that's not exactly true. Had to and want to are two different things.

I think the Cardinals are very likely to move on if they have the first pick.

If the first pick is their own pick, they will definitely go QB. If the first pick is their Houston pick and the team plays well with Kyler, it's more iffy but I still think they might do it.

IMHO, the greatest player in NFL history.

Respect for much of his public persona and politics.

Loved a few of his movies. Loved that he went out on his own terms.

In his personal life, he seemed like a piece of shit.

All coexisting ideas.

RIP #44 Orange.

Flexing for Thursday Night Football just passed, 24-8, per source. More rules as it pertains to Thursday Night Football: Only two flexes are allowed all season. They must be done with 28 days advance notice. Teams cannot play two away TNF games in a season.
