The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread

Good thing it didn't happen in, say, his garage.
Don't tread on me
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Same thing happened to my dad many years ago. Engine caught fire and exploded while he was driving. He barely got out. In his case, it was because his crazy girlfriend put crap in his gas tank because she thought he was cheating.

And let's head on down the road
There's somewhere I got to go..."

The beaches here are on a tear this year. That's like ten people in two weeks.

Did he ever get sober? I know that was a major problem. Sucks if it contributed to the drowning.

Odd choice of car... 1973 Mach 1? That car was a dog.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Belichick brought up the lack of spending in a presser in the last couple years. Wonder if this is a Kraft issue…I mean why else bring it up.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
It feels like Kraft wants to move on. Or someone else high in the Pats organization. These reports that Belichick is on the hot seat have some ring or truth to them. That would coincide with not shelling out cash to help improve the roster. Kraft wants that honor to go to the next GM and head coach.

Belichick has a "lifetime" contract in NE. Kraft will never fire him. Get real.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I could see Belichick leaving, not necessarily as a firing but a both sides agree to move on type of deal. New England might benefit long term by going in a new direction and Bill’s best shot at winning a Lombardi without Brady may be elsewhere. Belichick bringing up spending at least shows some level of frustration at Kraft.

Didn't they just have a free agency spending spree a couple years ago?Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 1:28 pm I could see Belichick leaving, not necessarily as a firing but a both sides agree to move on type of deal. Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Sure did. A ton of short term deals with high base salaries. All of it is a wash at this point.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 3:54 pmDidn't they just have a free agency spending spree a couple years ago?Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 1:28 pm I could see Belichick leaving, not necessarily as a firing but a both sides agree to move on type of deal. With RBs being valued the way they are, will there ever be another RB inducted into the HOF?

Peterson will be first ballot.
As for active players, that’s a tough one and too soon to call. Henry is probably the best bet after a few more dominant years and/or a notable postseason/championship.
Running and controlling tempo is still vital to the game, and as long as that’s the case there will always be dominant backs in the discussion.

Those Seahawks throwbacks are a beaut.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I've heard of hometown discounts, but the contract Alex Highsmith signed...woof. 4-68-27, though he is set to earn $38 mil in the first two years. Highsmith is 25 and coming off of a 14.5 sack season.
For contrast, two years ago Bud Dupree was a free agent after playing that same role for the Steelers that Highsmith is. He was significantly older at 28. He was coming off an 8 sack season. And he had suffered a torn ACL late in the year. He got 5-82-35 from the Titans.
Highsmith must like Pittsburgh.

Vikings first-round pick, WR Jordan Addison, was cited just after 3 a.m. today for speed and reckless driving in St. Paul. He was driving 140 MPH in a 55, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Yeah yeah acmillis
He probably will not play game 1 vs Bucs
