Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Yes, 0-16 would be off the table, imo. Even a mediocre QB would get wins with the offensive talent on this team.

We really missed Lavonte and Shaq out there today.
Thanks Jets for that QB sneak from the 2. LMAO worst play call to lose a game since that Ravens zero blitz against the Raiders

I wonder who our starting QB would be if we didn't have Brady this year. Would we roll with Trask as a rookie, or just go with Gabbert.

The last 4 MVPs have come from teams with #1 seeds.
Seriously, if they bothered to actually look at each team and see how players elevate their teams, the annual MVP picture would be so different

I’m forgetting but who was it that gave me that link to our game vs the Colts a few weeks back? Think you’d have the link to this game as well?
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
NFL has moved our game next week against the Panthers from 1 PM to 4:25 PM.
There are 6 total games during the 4:25 timeslot now.
NO/ATL, NYJ/BUF, SF/LA, NE/MIA, SEA/ARI, and CAR/TB.
Guess we'll watch the race for the #2 seed live.

Makes sense to have the Saints and 49ers playing at the same time.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Does anyone already know without using google - how many times we blitzed against the Jets?
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Not enough. Wilson coulda baked a cake in the time it took our fourman rush to get home in the first half and well into the second.

Bowles doesn’t even know that statistic without using Google.

I'm impressed with the Jets, they're definitely on the upswing.

There's a shot they'll be shown in my market then (central VA). They show lots of Panther & WFT games here. It's so much better to get the feed from my Hulu Live subscription than having to stream from the internet. They're still behind (time-wise) the actual network broadcast, but those streams can be over a minute behind sometimes.

Devin White now with a 34 on PFF. After how terrible he played yesterday, I'm not even surprised. Don't know what White needs to do this offseason to get better but damn this has been a rough season for him. His bad plays are somehow worse than previous years, and when's the last time he even made a splash play?
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
People thought I was crazy saying I wouldn’t take him on his fifth year option. Seems like it’s less crazy by the week.Nano wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 9:06 pm Devin White now with a 34 on PFF. White's snap-to-snap consistency is definitely plummeting. We as a fan base have been able to overlook his historical shortcomings as a player because he showed elite that manifested as impact plays. This year, he looks slow, he looks hesitant, he isn't playing hungry and he isn't attacking his gaps with gusto. His two tackles this week don't cut it.Snake wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 9:10 pmPeople thought I was crazy saying I wouldn’t take him on his fifth year option. He can still motor when he puts his mind to it, but there's something off about him. It's not really a singular technique issue or personal flaw. Were I to wager, I'd hazard that something is going on with him from the neck up, or maybe he's playing more hurt than we know. Either way, it's concerning. Doubly so because he is playing quite poorly when LVD isn't on the field to hold his hand, and the day will eventually come when LVD rides off into the sunset and White is going to need to figure this shit out on his own.
If the recent past is a preview of that eventual future, color me pessimistic.

Need LVD and Playoff White back in the worst way.

I don't think LVD has seemed himself either, I think Bowles has them playing pass for the first two seconds of every play. They play better on their toes going downhill and the hesitation is a burr in their style.
They play back 10 plays and hope for two good plays.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Not So Rapid Reactions:
1) Egads, Kevin Minter is slow. There were at least 4-5 big plays for the Jets that wither and die if LVD is on the field. Instead, Minter is just plain too slow to get in position quickly enough. Much respect for the things Minter does well, but we need to upgrade this offseason.
2) Tom Brady is master of the, "He's having a quiet day - oh, wait, he threw for 400 yards" game.
3) If you'd told me Cyril Grayson and Tyler Johnson would be key parts of the attack and we'd still be 12-4, I'd have been, ummmm, surprised.
4) We can talk all we want about how deep and talented our roster is, but I don't think we win 8 games with an average quarterback here. Part of that is all the injuries, but that's also part of the math when one says "deep and talented."
5) Antonio Brown is off on his next adventure! Good luck AB, helping people learn to laugh and love - again.
6) I'm genuinely surprised that with Godwin and AB not playing, Brate is still a relatively minor part of the offense (at least in terms of targets) and Howard is still non-existent. Whatever works, I guess.
7) Even though he's a shell of what he was, I really do enjoy Bell's running style. There really isn't anyone like him.
8) This is not the first time that a mediocre offensive line has kicked our pass rush's ass. Yes, I know JPP and Shaq were out. But somebody needed to step up and nobody really did.
9) Sterling Hofsteder (sp) looking over at AB's meltdown and then going back to warming up like it's all normal is a brilliant metaphor for life. "Yeah, whatever, I got work to do." More than anyone else, I hope we win the backup punter a ring.
10) On the Jets - Braxton Berrios is a really fun player to watch. Wilson showed some flashes of brilliance. CJ Moseley is a good player. A couple of their DBs showed some promise, and I was impressed how #37 manned up fearlessly with Evans.
