My gut is telling me this draft isn't gonna grade out as a great one long-term.

But wtf do I know...

Don't sell yourself short. It appears this one and last years are iffy at best to grade out well long term

Would have much preferred a CB with upside or a DL for depth than a punter, any punter, there

Head scratcher, thought we’d add some DB depth. They showed Licht pumping his fists afterwards. Guess that was his pick.

I’m assuming Pinion gets released?

Nope.

But he's more consistent and can boom kickoffs, so yay?

Goodbye Pinion. Wish you the best moving forward.

Like, what's the best case scenarios if we're being realistic about projections?

Hall becomes Gholston 2.0. Solid starter for years.
White is an average 3 down RB. not spectacular, but can play.
Goedeke becomes a solid guard. Maybe he can be a lot better. but idk.
Otton's physical traits limit his ceiling.
A punter is a punter.

Coming away with 3 starters would be great. But I don't see a lot of potential here. but again, not an expert or pretending to be.

We traded a 4th round pick for $2.8M in cap space.

Given we're a good offense most of our punts don't really have to go far as much as hang high, which this guy does very well.

Best case while trying to be at least somewhat realistic given their physical limitations.

Glass half full: The roster is so stacked there aren’t any position players available that’ll make the final 53 or even practice squad. Hence, punter.

I really do not like this. I trust Licht with small school offensive lineman, but with kickers and punters? I do not like this at all. Especially since this dude isn’t even that punt god people are drooling over. Our first four picks I’m okay with to varying degrees but this not so much.

On the bright side, Pinion is overpaid and not very good.

Tom Brady won't be a Buccaneer after this season. I understand the desire to improve on the margins, but we're talking about a punter in the 4th round.

I think Hall has a bit more juice than Gholston ever had. But your point is valid.

This would've been the draft where I took exceptional athletes with great gifts and tasked my coaching staff with teaching them how to be better football players. This draft we seem to do the opposite. Took guys who aren't the best athletes but did well in college.

This has been a very Mark Dominik like draft.

Did you see the excitement from Licht when that punter got picked, not a Buc fan in the world mattered at that very moment.

Were you not paying attention last year when we were playing CBs that were on their couch the week before????

Would have preferred a CB or DL with some upside but that's just me and I don't get paid millions for my football opinions

You're right about Hall having more juice. and I agree, if this coaching staff is so large and good, I'd like to see them try to coach up some better athletes. but you know...
