A large section of LSU fans actually believe they are hiring Lincoln Riley.

I’m hoping for fantastic finishes for today's matchups.
Except the Ga v Tenn. debacle.
That one should have about 50 Vol miscues in it that lead to points.

Penn State dominated that first quarter. We can't get off the field on defense and can't stay on it on offense. 33 plays to 6. Bruh.

It wasn't pretty, but Penn State is better than their record indicates imo. They were the number 4 team in the country earlier this year prior to their QB getting injured.

Glad we got the win.

Onto Maryland.

Ohio State should demolish the rest of their scheduled opponents now that they’ve righted the ship.

Tough loss.

6-4 is a rough look but every loss outside of the Illinois loss is against quality teams. Ohio State, Michigan and Iowa. Iowa and Ohio State on the road.

That Illinois loss was brutal because Clifford was in obvious pain but we had no one behind him because of Will Levis leaving for Kentucky.

Good win versus Maryland, and OSU beat the snot outta Michigan State.

This upcoming game against Ohio State is I'd argue the most important game in the last fifteen years of the program. If we win, we make it to the conference championship and presumably the playoffs, but most importantly we dethrone Ohio State. If we lose... still had a good season I suppose and the future is bright with McCarthy.

A one-score game wouldn't surprise me. If we can contain those three receivers, we have a shot. If not, we could get boatraced.

It's a game of matchups. Hopefully it's a good game.

Mullen is out as Florida head coach. His team gave up 42 points to fricking Samford at halftime.

And that was the end of that. Maybe the next hire gets control of the locker room as well as proper sportsmanship on the field.
Sick of the crap since Spurrier left.

It got to the point where the team was collapsing in on itself. They finished SEC play ranked 13th. Their recruiting class is ranked 34th nationally(24th composite), and they're on a 2-9 run against P5 opponents. Everyone figured they'd have a rebuilding year, but they just straight-up collapsed as a program.

Prior to the mini GOAT Spurrier/Meyer run, Florida was just kinda meh, for like, 90 years. Some strong seasons here and there but no NCs and no undefeated seasons.

I respect high standards but I don’t respect delusion. It’s a fine line. Mullen was 10-3, 11-3, 8-4. Reputation as a brazen cheater. Fine. Struggles running an organized program. Right. But who exactly do they think is walking through that door? Pretty fascinating opening. I think Napier is the #1 candidate.

I honestly think he went downhill on the QB situation which started with Franks, and spiraled in the 2 QB fail this year of EJ and AR.

He also didn't have a resource to keep him in check.

You're right @Snake on the expectations. Once you climb, it's easy to fall.

He also had the issue where he kept his DC Grantham this year when he should've been fired last year. Gators had a historical offense last year, but an extremely bad defense which was the main reason they went only 8-4. This year, it feels like he just lost the team, especially after the loss to Kentucky and LSU. Honestly, it felt like the Mullens that was fired was just not the same one that was so enthused when he was hired.

Looks like Gators are zeroing in on Napier which would be an interesting hire. If they get the right hire, they can be back to 9+ win seasons soon.

Great call on Grantham .. I heard Dan was poking around and just couldn't find someone to replace him. Not sure that was truth, and as you said, this year it went of the tracks.

Napier was in Lynchburg last week to play Liberty. He's got himself a good calling game, and yet also has a good coaching staff.

I'm torn: I want Michigan to win because I have a particular dislike for Ohio State. Don't ask me why, I just always have. Maybe it's an Ohio thing.
But.... I really think Ohio State v. Georgia is the current dream championship matchup, and a 2-loss OSU is no bueno.

I guess its a win/win? Either way, I'm really looking forward to this game.

Does it really matter though? Seems like all these extensions (for good coaches and lower level programs) accomplish is financially protecting the University a bit if (when) they leave for a better job via buyout. It's not like if USC calls, 99 out of 100 coaches in Hugh Freeze's position are saying, "No, I'm not interested, I signed an extension here." Maybe Freeze is that guy (no clue) but we all know how it works. Even someone like James Franklin, coaching in the Big Ten at his Alma Mater, is listening if a top SEC program calls.

Anyway, going to the Iowa game today because I hate myself and I hate fun. And the Nebraska-Iowa "rivalry" is the most contrived rivalry in college football anyway. I don't know any Husker fans who hate Iowa. Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Kansas State (biggest asshole fans in the midwest)? Them we hated. We kind of hate Wisky, I think just because they remind us of who we used to be (a dominant physical running team that punches people in the mouth while wearing red and white) and it hurts.

Look like Lincoln Riley to LSU rumors are true. Congratulations Xanders

Gators news…
Florida is “pretty deep in the negotiation stage” and “barring some late unforeseen snags, it’s sure looking like Napier to Florida.”

You saw a good game. The Cornhuskers are just outmatched in the B1G. They've been bottom dwellers for quite some time.

I wouldn't say that. Nebraska is a whisker away from being really competitive. Here's some fun Nebraska facts from this season:

- Nebraska just set a record by losing 9 games by single digits in the AP poll era.
- They had a point differential of 0 in B1G play, but their record was 1-8 in those games.

While naysayers can say that those numbers point to Scott Frost not being able to get it done, I disagree. They are far better than their record would have you believe. Frost is very, very close to taking that program out of the gutter and into the Top 25.
