Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I'm leery of Neal. Not sure how he will be in coverage, they blitzed him a lot at GA. Usually dont do that if the player is good in coverage. How much of his ability/talent was able to flash because he rarely had to fight through blocks with that d-line?
One of the dts or cbs please.

Send Bootz back in, I'm not done with him either.

Why wouldn't the Ravens want Malik? A project qb backup who, if your primary guy Lamar goes down, requires you to change nothing. Maybe they will want to move up to make sure they get him?
Just sayin.

Bucs moving down to pick 45? Or are you not sayin who the trade partner is

He has coverage chops. That doesn't worry me.Pirate Life wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 6:11 pm I'm leery of Neal. Not sure how he will be in coverage, they blitzed him a lot at GA. What does worry me is that Neal barely ran faster than his teammate Jordan Davis, both about 4.7. When you account for the fact that Neal ran that time at his pro day and Davis ran his at the combine, there's a legit argument to be made that Davis could outrun the linebacker who he outweighs by 120 pounds.
People see Neal making plays in college despite that speed because his vision and recognition are pretty good. He didn't win the Butkus Award for nothing after all.
What worries me is that his lack of long speed is severely limiting. In college, Neal didn't have to defend longer concepts or deeper routes because his defense was utterly dominant, so offenses tried to get the ball out of their hands as fast as possible.
He won't have that luxury in the pros. There will come the day very early in his career when he will be in man coverage and has to cover a wheel route against a running back with 4.4 or better speed. On that day, Neal is going to get exposed, bad. And smart offensive coordinators will abuse him, likely repeatedly.
That makes me nervous, and it wouldn't surprise me if that's reason A why he dropped.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
You answered your own question. He's a project. And yes, they would have to change a ton if LJ went down. They already have a guy like that in Huntley and he didn't even cost them a draft pick.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
This, basically. Though the offense they could roll out with both of them on the field at the same time could be evolutionary. Two guys who run like that and can throw the ball 60 yards? Think of the bizarre option looks and wildcat stuff.King Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 6:42 pmYou answered your own question. He's a project. Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I wonder if we got a trade down ironed out last night?
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
So, it’s Travis or Logan at 33, huh?
Ok.
Then a bunch of alligator-armed irregularly shaped ‘tilapias’ hoping to make it happen at the next level.
And James Cook.
And that CSU TE everyone’s high on.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I would've just been happier with Wyatt. Fuck it, use the picks correctly Jason.
Edit: looking at former Rays at the same time. I'm a dumbass

Plug and play starter. Many had him going there. Not Dean but in the cluster below.

Good pick. Wardaddy. Frame to add a little more bulk. He'll be a good one. I'm glad we're addressing the DL.

Wyatt. I'm so stupid. I'm looking up old Rays at the same time right now and had Wil Myers on the brain. Sheeshkaimaru wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 7:25 pmWho?These Are The Days wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 7:17 pm I would've just been happier with Myers. Fuck it, use the picks correctly Jason.
