The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
If Licht wanted Dean or Wyatt he would have picked them at #27 I think. He traded out of the 1st Round not because he is locked in on a certain guy but a certain position most likely.
He thought he could trade out if the 1st and still get his pick of the RBs.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
At their best, I think it's like choosing between AP or Willis again. Don't worry, we'll take Adams.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
15 years later. Still makes me mad.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Start bangin your head on a train trestle we are not going for a running back this early.

?
I think we should have done a classic JL trade up one spot for Jermaine Johnson. First off.
Next, I absolutely love Lloyd and Dean, in that order.
The "no pussyfooting" was at YOU ALL, who never actually put who you would take on paper.

I see the LVD in his game and I love it. I just doubt Licht drafts someone who won’t play much during our final TB12 year. If Bowles can figure out some way to get the kid on the field I’ll love it.
Dean looks like the best player on the board and a 10 year starter. If we had not picked up White’s 5th year option I would like this more. It’s hard to bang the table for an off ball LB even as talented as Dean.
How would we use him this season in a division that now include Olave and London?
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Not at all. Who knows where LVD goes next year. Maybe we win a SB, he plays awesome and chases one last huge payday. He just saw Von Miller get $120M at 33. David is 32.
Dean for ten years is great, period. Then again so is say Hall or Walker, but Dean is elite imo.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Take the best player. White could have another down year and then be looking at greener pastures, LVD could retire, Brady has one more year here… i’m all about achieving the biggest goal next season, but we’re not talking top 5 picks here. 2021 was a “day 1 contributor” draft and we see how that went.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Exactly.
Anyone know anything about these three CBs? Booth, McCreary, Gordon? I've seen some of the Clemson kid, I like him.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Talent wise, are you able to tell me how much better Jermaine Johnson is compared to Sam Williams?
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Really wish Bootz woulda put his six picks down on paper.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Come to think of it - there's time for whoever.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I am kinda feeling another trade back. Not really far but I think they can get the player they are targeting if they drop back.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
There's a ton of value in this second round. My preference would be a trade down, with an eye towards getting an additional second day pick, but if that's not doable that's fine.
Targets I Like and Thoughts I Have.
- Nakobe Dean - I guess he's BPA at this point, but not a big positional need, like nowhere close. He is a fine player on gameday but he is small and slow, which is why he dropped down to the second round. If we select him at #33, I hope he works out, but I have some reservations. Maybe a developmental inside backer in the third would be nice.
- Andrew Booth, Rodger McCreary, and Kyler Gordon are all solid second round talents at cornerbacks and would be welcome on defense. Any of them would be a referendum on SMB, I'd think. While none of them may start as rookies, all should shore up the team in the long term.
- Trey McBride is a great tight end who can block, who Brady can rely on to catch the ball, and would play 500+ snaps at tight end this year. Jelanie Woods in the third would be a homerun.
- Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker III are both great running back prospects and I'd welcome them in pewter, but I wonder how much either of them would see the field and I would question whether adding a runner in the second is a great use of available resources. I dig a few prospects in the third, but again, maybe not a smart pick? I like Haskins in the fourth round.
- Logan Hall doesn't impress me much but he could contribute to the DL. Travis Jones and DeMarvin Leal also don't impress me either. I like Perrion Winfrey and Phidarian Mathis in the second.
- Drafting an edge player would be a surprise but I wouldn't complain too much.
- I don't really like the receivers in the second round and would be a bit grumpy if we drafted one.
- A safety would be a surprise and not in a good way.
- I'd be hella grumpy if we drafted a quarterback.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
If we take a RB I just hope to god it’s a well rounded one, who can catch and pass protect, for once.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Neither Hall or Walker are known for that. Hall is regarded a bit better than Walker, but neither is a natural "three down back."
I'm hoping to god we do literally anything other than a running back. It makes no sense to me. None of these guys are AD. I don't even think any of these guys are Javonte Williams. There's zero value in draft a running back now.

Bucs took K. J. Britt last draft in the 5th round. ILB. Who knows what we have there.Cheb wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 3:26 pm - Nakobe Dean - I guess he's BPA at this point, but not a big positional need, like nowhere close. I think Hall is a plug and play starter for us and would do exactly what you'd want him to do from his role.
We don't know where LVD will be after this year. If we're honest we're not 100% sure about White long term either, and I think it's safe to say I'm a huge White fanboy. Getting Dean is by far the smart play. Not even close.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
If we can't get Suh back, I don't really see a signing or move that will fill his spot on the DL much better than Hall. Pair him with Travis Jones at 60. DL is restocked. LBs loaded. Safeties are thick. Davis is back.

Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I did. Great draft. Lots of fun. Lots of movement. Not a big fan of JL right now, I think he overplayed his hand this draft. But there's major swing potential in this round.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Travis Jones at 60? Who are you trying to convince he'd last that long?

The more I think about it the more I’m liking McBride at 33 and taking DL at 60.

Can't imagine why no one replied in the draft forum.
I mean, dude is just throwing out names hoping one post may be close.
All it takes is the spine to be wrong. Throw out your names jelly.
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Who you want us to take Pete?
Re: The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
See how they attack or pretend to not understand - that's fear. Protect my image - be wrong. LOL, such a dilemma.
I don't see it as being wrong, it's about who you would like to see on our team. Now it is true a bad look could come through the course of a rookie contract. Man up and take it.
