Jerry Jones really likes Dan Quinn a lot. Possibly the new Dallas head coach.
Sources around the league believe Mike McCarthy's future in Dallas will depend on how the Cowboys perform in the playoffs.

An embarrassing loss could be the end of McCarthy's tenure.

The biggest issue is his misuse of resources (high draft picks in Pitts, London and Bijan). Doesn’t look like he and the GM are on the same page on what kind of team they want to be.

Signed, Bijan fantasy owner.

Maybe. Still left to be seen. All those pieces could be in place waiting of that QB.

Unless you think the actual players are faulty.

Apparently he was the problem today. His team got ripped a new one by the Saints and he lost his cool on the sidelines. Sounds like the last gasp of a man who knows he's gonna lose his job.

Yea today was not a great case for keeping him. Not how you want your team to respond to a potential playoff bid.

I am not sure if Belichick is so much on the hotseat or if all parties just know a change is better for all of those same parties. I am hearing Bill is ready to go regardless of whether they intend to fire him. I suspect he wants to pull a Brady and sign with a team that is already stacked pretty well. I think he wants a ring on his own away from Brady and he wants to chase that all time wins record.

Bill doesn't really have anything left but the record. Which he isn't getting NE unless he stays a lot longer and that's if he hits the savior lotto with Maybe or Caleb. But he can go to the Chargers, take Eric B. from a fire Rivera staff to be his OC for Herbert, who will eventually take over to fight Anyd Reid and Mahomes with a BB built in future years.

I think there is 0 chance nick siriani gets canned. They almost won the SB last year and are about to win another playoff game this year.

The way the Falcons season ended, his firing was trending that way. But his demeanor on the sidelines after getting destroyed by New Orleans sent ownership over the edge.

Jones is also 80+ years old and wants to win. Bill ain’t far behind him and is looking for the same.

I imagine through the decades as prominent figure heads in the league, that they’re pretty well acquainted.

Yeah, I thought he'd be a better fit for the Bears and he'd want that job, but sounds like they're keeping Eberflus. Also, thought Washington would be a good fit since his brother lives there and he'd be in opposite conferences, but I think Harbaugh likes the West Coast. And he gets the chance to work with Herbert and build around him. Oh yeah, and $105 million or whatever they're reportedly going to offer him helps sweeten the deal.

The Panthers have fired their GM Scott Fitterer. He basically helped rebuild the Bears by trading first round picks to them in order to move up to get Bryce Young when he should've taken CJ Stroud. Whiffing on your franchise QB pick certainly justifies a firing. Bryce Young is going to end up being the next Ryan Leaf/Jamarcus Russell/Matt Leinart

Quiet firing period for the 2nd straight year. Between the coaches fired in season and within the last 12 hours, just 5 openings.

That is kinda quiet. I remember one year (2008 season I think) where there were eleven coaches fired. That's nearly half the teams in the NFL.

Near the end of last season the league informed teams that they had spent something like $800mil to compensate fired HCs, GMs, and their staff over a 5 year period. Since we know the league kinda likes keeping their hands in the hiring pots, it's no coincidence that since that time we've only had 10 total vacancies for HC in 2 offseasons.

I really thought there would be between 8 and 10 openings. I guess some early playoff exits this weekend could add to that.

The Eagles have moved off of Super Bowl winning coaches and quarterbacks. I do think Sirianni is at risk of getting fired if they lose to the Buccaneers.
