AB gonna AB
Crap effort all around but way to pull it together at the end to squeak out a win
Between AB and RoJo scoring me 2 points each, I'm gonna need up losing my FF championship game after leading the league in scoring by over 300 points, lol

So is Grayson becoming a thing? Two weeks in a row he's come up huge. He made that big 3rd and 20 conversion and of course the game winner today.
Guess we'll see how he develops but I'm getting a bit excited about his potential.

I love the player answers about Anotonio Brown's stupid childish actions. They all talk about everyone sticking together. Everyone doing what is needed to win. No one throwing shade on Brown but they really said they were focused on the game. Moving forward they are focused on the playoffs.
Seems like Antonio going baby might have quenched the red hot Buccaneers team in oil. My hope is that this hardens the Buccaneers football team as they move towards the playoffs.

I dont hate AB as much as most do here, but I do think you are spot on. It was a spark to the remaining players mutual loyalty and team mentality.

I said what I said
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Tom should win MVP for that throw to Grayson alone. I’d love to see the odds of us winning right before the Jets went for it on fourth down.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
We need 31 points next week. We are currently at 470. Dallas next at 457.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Yeah it was an MVP drive. Minute left. No timeouts. 93 yards to go. Must score a TD. Then meticulously works down the field and caps the drive off with an incredible TD pass.
Unless ARod plays out of his mind tonight the pendulum should swing back in Brady's favor.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
What does 31 get? NFL record?

Just to break 500, is all.
New Bucs record. We had 492 last year, with playoffs and all. Closest we've ever been to 500.

It's like what does MVP even really mean anymore? What QB has the best numbers or best highlights?ATrain wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 5:45 pmYeah it was an MVP drive. Minute left. The Award use to actually mean something. Now it's just a plot device used to push a narrative.

Is that what it should mean?? Not in my opinion but it does seem to be that way in today's NFL....King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:09 pmIt's like what does MVP even really mean anymore? What QB has the best numbers or best highlights?ATrain wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 5:45 pm

It could be argued that without Brady, ARod, or Taylor, none of those teams would be nearly as successful as they are
It is what it is

Maybe so, Bootz. I'm excited because a player on my team has a shot at MVP. Never happened to me before. So it's all about ME.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:09 pmIt's like what does MVP even really mean anymore? You say that but when King Henry went down early in the season, no one thought Tennessee would win their division. We saw how much of the Tennessee offense was Henry. Who says if Johnathan Taylor had gone down that they wouldn't still be in the playoff hunt. If you're down 2 scores, what is more important the rest of the game? A great rushing attack or a great passing attack? That's why QBs win MVPs.Moozician wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:32 pmMaybe so, Bootz. I'm excited because a player on my team has a shot at MVP. Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
In all honesty in the game of football MVP awards are rather stupid. However, given that they have the award and how the NFL game is played currently it is difficult for the MVP of a team to not be the QB. With that, it is difficult for a non-QB to get a league-wide award for MVP.

Brady has been ABOVE par without a good portion of his starting receivers being absent for most of the season

Absolutely. Josh Allen did far more with less. He carried the Bills with basically no run game and an overachieving defense.ATrain wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:31 pmDo you feel the same way about Rodgers MVP last year?King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:09 pm

That said, there was a solid case for Rodgers last year. Led the league in TDs. Packers had a ton of injuries as well and they still got the #1 seed.
I understand what the award is now. It's mainly QB validation. When QBs use to win it, it wasn't always just the guy with the best #s.

Then stop making it AS MVP and call it what it is. The top QB award.kaimaru wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:43 pmYou say that but when King Henry went down early in the season, no one thought Tennessee would win their division. Evans needs 54 yards next week to continue his 1k streak
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
Was this the worst game of White's career? He was absolutely abysmal.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
To me, the MVP is the one player on the team that, without them, the team wouldn’t be successful. For the Bucs, I think I can safely say that player is Brady. For the Packers, it’s safe to say that it’s Rodgers.
In todays NFL, most every team’s success hinges on the play of their QB. That being said, is it any wonder that 99% of league MVP awards go to a QB? Does that make it wrong? No. It doesn’t. It is what it is because of the rules in today’s game.
In ‘02, the Bucs could have been successful without Brad Johnson. Just as the Ravens would have been without Dilfer. They definitely weren’t their team’s MVP’s. We just don’t see that anymore.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
We would most likely be 0-16 without Brady this season.
The Titans are the #1 seed in he AFC without Henry for a significant portion of the season.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 17: Bucs win 28-24
It's been a struggle most games with Brady. I mean, maybe the Bears game we win? Possibly the Panthers. But 0-16 wouldnt be off the table.
