Saban’s autism going full tilt as the field was rushed was worth missing sleep.

You think the committee will put Cincy in over a one loss SEC/B1G team with more strong wins? Oof.

Ohio State and Alabama are very very talented but also very very young. I have a hard time imagining them escaping without one more loss a piece. Maybe conference championship game for them both.

Yet another reason why the playoff needs expansion. There should be room for the best teams to compete.

Leaving Cincinnati out of the playoffs (assuming they win out) would be a tragedy. Leaving a competitive one-loss team out of the playoffs would also be a tragedy.

Pushing the playoff to 8 or 12 teams would alleviate many of these headaches. Someone with a case to be made may still be left out of that expansion, but most of those who deserve a shot at a Natty will get it.

Saw this on Twitter…

Oregon wins out and goes 12-1
Alabama beats 12-0 Georgia in SEC Championship. Alabama is 12-1 and Georgia is 12-1.
Oklahoma is undefeated
Cincinnati is undefeated
OSU beats 12-0 Iowa in Indy to go 12-1 and Iowa is 12-1.
Notre Dame is 11-1

Who gets in?

That would never happen...

...but ND and Cinci would be for sure left out.

I would bet Oregon slips in past UGA, but that would be a coinflip.

You might want to hold off until after this weekend before making that guarantee. GA still needs to get past KY, first.

Kentucky really isn't very good. If they beat UGA, that tells me more about UGA than Kentucky.

I think KY is a bit better than they get credit for, and GA is a bit worse. Overall, GA should beat KY... but if this game stays close then KY could end up representing the East in the title game.

Outside of the LSU game, they've looked like Kentucky of old with a few really lucky breaks. LSU isn't a good team.

I think Tennessee and UGA will beat them.

Extensive breakdown of Kentucky’s offensive changes after bringing in a Sean McVay coaching tree guy. Coincidentally this article came out today.

https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/K ... 173052780/

Regardless, UGA is still favored by 22.5.

Their offense looked great against LSU running the ball...but not good against UF or USC. They could be coming into their own or LSU could have been bad.

UGA is the best run stopping team in the country, I believe. I can't imagine Kentucky having much success, but we'll see.

Every day is different and teams play up and down to competition, but Kentucky is the 3rd best team we played against this year...UGA was on another level. We couldn't keep up with their athletes. We were equals, talent wise, against Kentucky.

Did UGA figure something out offensively since week 1? That's the only game I've seen of them, and their best offense was a pick-6. Their defense was beastly, but otherwise.....

Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina and Georgia looking decent as of this week.
What a playoff scenario this year.

So Iowa lost…

Cincinnati keep winning.

Snake, try again

If Cincinnati run the table

Michigan lose BIG 10 championship with 12-1 record.

I assume that at least one non-traditional power will make the playoffs this year. If anything, I applaud it. It makes a case that the playoff should be (rightfully) expanded.

Cincinnati > Michigan
Cincinnati played one good team and may finish with two wins against good teams. Not enough.

I think that would be the argument against expansion. “Hey, there’s only 4 spots, and even so, little Jimmy got in… no need to expand.”
