I seriously hope we didn't pass on Devonte Wyatt to draft a linebacker when D-Line was a more glaring need. If we did, Licht needs to go.

LVD has missed some time in subsequent years. That drop off to Minter has been steep. I’m on board with Dean.

The Lions move up 20 picks, from practically the 2nd round to #12, and they get #46. They pay the Vikings #32, #34, and #66.

Basically:
- The Lions move up 20 picks in the 1st round.
- The Vikings move up 12 picks in the 2nd round, and get a 3rd rounder.

I couldn't believe the Vikings didn't get the 2023 Rams first rounder in this deal.
I was very shocked by how little it cost the Lions to move up that far.

What Tight End? With which pick? I am not sure I see a TE at 33.

I'm curious what "elite players" we missed out on during the 20 minutes between the trade and your post.

If we can’t find a suitor for #33 with the appropriate amount of juice, the trade certainly netted us enough draft capital to trade up with our late 2nd to snag another near-certain contributor this year.

Dean or Jones at 33, move up from the late second with a 4th and change for McBride or an Edge?

Thinking another trade down. Maybe Ruckert. But not sure which pick…

This would've been a great draft for a classic JL one pick trade up for Jermaine Johnson. SMH

I was in on JJ also. But ALOT of teams passed on him last night.

He's an elite athlete who plays a premium position, so for him to be projected to go around 10th overall and slide down to 26th overall makes me wonder what the majority of league knows, or thinks they know, that we don't about JJ.

Just something to think about. Again, I was like you hoping the Bucs would get a steal in the late first.

To follow up my previous Strange post...
► Show Spoiler
So a 99 percentile athlete at guard who also scored a 99 from PFF last season. Albeit mostly against lower tier talent. though he also fucked up University of Kentucky kids. Pats also had Scar help look at o-line prospects this year.

Looks like a future probowl type.

Bill Belichick is literally the best in the league at evaluating linemen. It's insane. A partial list:

Matt Light
Dan Koppen
Logan Mankins
Nick Kaczur
Sebastian Vollmer
Nate Solder
Marcus Cannon
Cameron Fleming
Shaq Mason
Joe Thuney
Ted Karras
Isaiah Wynn
Michael Onwenu

If he believes in this kid, this kid is going to be good.

Who's still there that you're taking at 33? Sean Rhyan is the highest rated guard by nearly all accounts. He's considered a late 2nd/early 3rd type. We can get him with our 2nd pick if we're so inclined, and there are a few others rated similarly if we can't.

Pick 33 needs to hit. I've mostly written 2021 class off and I'm worried about JTS taking next steps. With Brady seemingly Miami bound after this season, we need dudes.

Wow, the Texans just gave me pick 68 for Booth.

Bucs get 37/68
Texans Andrew Booth @33

I then proceeded to the Seahawks to see why they were calling
Bucs get 40/72
Seahawks get Malik Willis @37

Bucs next pick Travis Jones!

Weren’t there multiple teams coming out saying they only had 10-15 players with first round grades? Once you got past the first ~10 picks if they’re all kind of in the same tier it makes more sense to add the quantity.

That’s why I like the Bucs’ move so much. I’m hoping they trade back again.

Really like getting that first pick in round 4 too. They’ll have another night to sleep on it. Great spot for a RB or TE there.

Walker is a tough grade for me, but I've never been great at grading out RBs. He's good at detecting disappearing holes but it can lead to prematurely bouncing out runs, which doesn't work in the NFL as we know. Great balance, good feet. I think sometimes his upper and lower body are doing different things but he doesn't have the fluidity of movement to prevent it from affecting his momentum. I don't think he's gonna play as fast as he timed at the combine. Which, that's fine. It's more about quickness for RBs.

Comes down to the pass pro and hands. Fumbling is a non-issue.

Good thing unrealistic Jacksonville started things off. A bigger concern for me is to watch Licht accumulate a horde and then start dumping them 2 for one style. I'd rather move them to next year, than throw them away.

Draft hoarding never works yet numerous teams do it every year. Quality>Quantity should be the name of the game. I don't want to hear talk about us moving down unless we get a premium pick next year for #33. And by premium pick I mean a 1st.

The fact that teams I view as historically smart (not that that means anything) aren't hesitating to move up and get guys while giving up a good amount of draft capital is informative, to me.
