Field goals are partial successes and partial failures.

A failed drive is one that doesn't end in a kick (punt or field goal) because there was a turnover, a takeaway or otherwise. If you get points, that adds to the scoreboard, which adds to winning.

We'd all like TDs every drive but that isn't realistic. You need to be a realistic person in football or your life is going to suck.
