Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
At this point, I just want us to be healthy for the playoffs... Seedings be damned.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
With Kirk Cousins out, whatever chance he Vikings had at an upset plummeted to near zero.
Maybe Cook runs rampant and the Packers have an off game, but chances are the Packers win the #1 seed this week.

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
They also need a Cowboys loss to win the #1 seed. If they end up in a tie with Dallas, Dallas wins the #1 seed.
I honestly didn't think Minnesota had a great chance even with Cousins and it had nothing to do with him. That Minnesota defense is bad. Extremely bad. They don't get stops when they need to. They get absolutely destroyed in the run game and really aren't very good defending the pass either.
You need to play defense to stop Aaron Rodgers and they didn't do that when they won earlier this year against the Packers.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
What if Atlanta beats Buffalo on Sunday?
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Buc fans...just be happy with our ONE home playoff game because that's all we're gonna get. Rejoice that that will be one more home playoff game than we had last season.
Don't tread on me

I honestly don't mind beating Rodgers in Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game two years in a row. The salt will be able to be mined for centuries to come.

Much different beating GB up there last year with no fans than this year with a full house.
Of course it can be done but much easier to win those games 'on the road' last year with empty stadiums.

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
That's true but what's the point of being the champs with the GOAT if the fans aren't arrogant dicks about it?
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Arizona 10
Dallas 0
Dallas 0
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
With Dallas losing to Arizona 19-7 in 3rd Q, Bucs to move up to #3.
#6 Eagles at #3 Bucs
#6 Eagles at #3 Bucs
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
So close to being back the #2 seed butt the Rams found a way to eek out a win.
Gotta hope the Vikings have one last miracle left for the Packers tonight. Whether we end up with the #1 seed or not it would be better for football and the fans for the Packers to lose. Leaves next week as the deciding game and just makes for a much more exciting atmosphere.

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
I think we want the Saints to win today so that San Fran doesn't clinch yet.
That way San Fran is in a must win situation next week @Rams.
A Rams loss next week combined with a Bucs win at home vs Carolina gets the #2 seed.

Any given Sunday but with Kirk Cousins out.. 5 percent chanceATrain wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:19 pm So close to being back the #2 seed butt the Rams found a way to eek out a win.

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Looks like New Orleans is going to make the playoffs. The Panthers are behind by 8 points late in the 4th quarter. I would truly prefer the Saints not make the playoffs. (correction the Saints missed the XP)
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Not really, they’re on the bubble
Eagles and 49ers are ahead of the Saints

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Like Dread said, we need Rams to lose next week.
Go 49ers!

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Probably higher than that. Packers are 31st against the run, Cook is going to get his. GB’s o-line has more injuries than our secondary did earlier this season.Phantom wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:53 pmAny given Sunday but with Kirk Cousins out.. 5 percent chanceATrain wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:19 pm So close to being back the #2 seed butt the Rams found a way to eek out a win.

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
49ers and Eagles are 9-7 so they control their destiny next week.
Both will be underdogs
Saints win over Falcons next week gets them to 9-8 and what would be a better conference record than the 9-8 49ers.
49ers are in must win vs the Rams now.
Eagles could sneak into the playoffs at 9-8 due to favorable tiebreakers even if they lose.

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Imagine if the Bucs end up facing the Aints again. That’s worrisome.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
If I am correct with my scenarios the only way the Saints would play the Buccaneers would be in the NFC Championship game or in the first round if the Packers lose both games and Minnesota loses to Chicago.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
The falcons will most likely win next week game anyway
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Grain of salt, I don’t know the scenarios. But this dude says at least:
A familiar playoff foe..
A familiar playoff foe..
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
I think the Vikings are going to lose tonight. 20-0 Packers right now. The Vikings' defense held for a while but without Cousins, the Vikings' offense did nothing but sputter.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
There seems to be no scenario the Bucs and Saints can meet in the Wild Card round.
Most scenarios have the Bucs v Eagles as a 2v7 or 3v6 matchup
Small chance of a Bucs v 49ers matchup
I don't see a scenario the Bucs fall lower than the #3 seed regardless even with a loss at home to Carolina.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
In most cases, if the Packers win tonight, the Saints would not face the Buccaneers until the NFC Championship game and would have to defeat the Packers. If that happens the NFC Championship game would be in Tampa.Dread wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 9:43 pmThere seems to be no scenario the Bucs and Saints can meet in the Wild Card round.

Rams vs 49ers. Who ya got?
I'm happy Lance got to start and played so well against the Texans. But it's the Texans. As a Niners fan also I'm hoping for a 49ers/Bucs NFC Championship game so I'll have a dog in the fight at Sofi in February.

Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
I personally would like the see the 49ers win. Until the Saints change coaches I will always root against that team and the 49ers winning would knock them out.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 9:54 pm Rams vs 49ers. Who ya got?

Rams. Because I hope your team loses.
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
Bucs fans should be pulling for the 49ers because it gives us a path for the #2 seed, which means a potential 2nd home playoff game in the divisional round.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 9:54 pm Rams vs 49ers. Who ya got?

Bucs have been a much better team at RayJay this year on both sides of the ball.
I know the 49ers will come to play and they aren't afraid of the Rams. But the Rams have more talent for sure.
Should be a good game. But go Niners!!
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
A handy guide to the outcomes for seeding
Re: Playoff Positioning: Where we Stand.
So we have a 25% chance of the number 2 seed, 69% chance of the three seed, and a 6% chance of fourth.
Gotcha.
Gotcha.
