Hard to do when your best offensive weapon is the QB.

Other than Allen though, Diggs is their best weapon and he's been pretty quiet. 2 catches for 15 yards on 3 targets. Josh Allen is simply Super Man tonight
Josh Allen is the best offensive weapon? The only buffalo player you had in your MVP discussion was Diggs.
No clue where you get your “facts” from but that’s not true at all. Never said that.

Did anyone see this beatdown of the Patriots coming?

Because I sure did not see this coming. The Bills are not just wining; they are destroying the patriots!

Obviously a lot of things going wrong for the Pats.

But this game is as good as any to show the disparity of outcomes created by Elite QB play vs Functional play.

2021 Regular Season saw Mac Jones performing very admirably; # 12 DYAR, # 13 DVOA.

But we know that Allen can absolutely put a team on his back.

Switch Jones and Allen in this game and its a very different competitive affair. That 30 point differential likely shrinks to a 1 score game that goes down to the wire. That is how important the QB position is in the NFL.

Allen having a very Aaron Rodgers type game.

Throwing a TD pass every 5 throws. 4 incomplete passes. Squeaky clean game.

Josh Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, Jackson, Burrow, Murray, Wilson, Rodgers, Zack Wilson, Russ, Lawrence, Lance, Russ, Carr.

All 33 years and under. All either elite prospects or proven franchise QBs, or at the very least good QBs

Then we have Kyle Trask.

Watching Allen play coupled with all our injuries this season makes the Trask pick even more catastrophic.

Josh Allen was good enough to exploit the Pats D tonight, but you have to understand there's a half dozen teams still playing football that would've done the exact same thing.

The Pats need a complete overhaul on D (outside of Judon), including playmakers at the LB and DB levels.

To broach some thoughts offered by @King Bootz and @Nobody:

I pointed out the lack of speed on defense in NE, which you seem to be saying here as well. Bootz responded saying BB prefers order takers over superior athletes. I think this is pretty much true. Nobody (the poster) pointed out the discrepancy in QB play and how it exacerbated issues for the Pats.

Mac Jones isn't becoming Tom Brady. The Pats will continue having this small margin of error in their approach if they continue to eschew talent in favor of compliance when the regular season is over. An elite QB does a lot when it comes to covering up deficiencies in a roster. Possessions get extended, you can eek out points (rather than getting nothing), and the complexion of the game changes.

Are the Patriots ever going to be a playoff threat again, short of stumbling into a great QB or taking a different roster building approach?

While I certainly agree with you that Trask would not be in the group of top young talent I would not be willing to write him off quite yet.

Most folks with half a brain would agree with you. But that half a brain thing is a challenge for lugz.

LUGZ judging a QB before he’s ever taken a snap in an NFL uniform is great.

We signed a QB in FA. Who’s to say we won’t do it again, anyway?

49ers vs Cowboys up next.

Heh, this game is a bitter sweet game for me. Both of my previous favorite teams facing off again. I hope 9ers win though for a better potential match up later down the line.

We should be pulling for the 49ers. We DO NOT want to see Micah Parsons next week.

1) Bosa wouldn’t see us next week.
2) Micah Parsons is a better pass rusher and player than Bosa.

Has it been that long? Damn, lol. I've been a fan of the bucs since 1996 when they drafted Warrick Dunn and my father was getting on board with the Bucs. He was a 9ers fan growing up himself. My mother was from Dallas, so I liked both of those teams when I was like 10ish, but eventually switched to the bucs when I made up my own mind about the team I liked.

We beat the Boys first game of the year, I dont know if we can keep up this time. We've lost quite a bit of firepower since then.

The Cowboys defense will shut down this offense. We don’t run the ball enough to beat them. #11 will single handidly wreck our game.

LOVE that drive. If the Niners can keep the ball out of Jimmy’s hands as much as possible, they have a chance
