This would be the time to do it. Ten days off after Thursday. They have a perfect interim candidate IMHO in Mike Pettine, who has 2 years of HC experience and is simply a Defensive Assistant right now.

We all know Nagy is gone after the year either way. Better to do it now and begin the search in earnest. Presumably targeting someone with the chops to get the most out of Justin Fields.
Unless they get rid of Ryan Pace as well, I don't think it will matter who is the head coach. He seems to have blundered into a good prospect with Fields, but the rest of his drafting has crippled that team.

It's ridiculous that head coaches barely get 3/4 years to make good. Firing Nagy isn't going to fix the issues of injuries and an inexperienced Fields

The Lions may just be staring another winless season in the face. 0-10-1 and this was probably their most winnable game left.

I know Dan Campbell is well liked, but I don't see how he can be kept if it happens.

The Lions looked as bad as their record. How they even tied a game surprises me.

Three holding calls in a row helps cement draft status.

They are as bad as their record.

There's some good young talent on the OL. Swift is a good young back. Hockenson is five minutes from superstardom. But Goff is trash. They don't have a starting wide receiver. And the defense is just grotesque.

You could make a real case the have a worst 53 in the league right now. Frankly, it's a credit to Dan Campbell that they're EVER competitive with other teams.

It took a kick from God for the Ravens to beat them. The Lions also have a ton of bad luck

They're almost as bad as the Rod Marinelli 0-16 team.

If anyone is interested in this. Can't wait for All-Madden to come out on Christmas. Madden will always be my favorite analyst. I skipped some of the owners story, but that was a good read too.

Part of the story that I loved:
DelGiorno walked the Mistich family to the elevator and promised to get up with Glenn later to let him know what Madden thought. They both were whispering about how excited Madden had seemed. DelGiorno said goodbye and went back in to find Madden and the whole Fox crew gathered around the turducken. It was an unwritten rule that Madden got to eat first, but the realization had hit that there were no utensils or napkins.

After a good 30 seconds of people scouring the booth and coming up empty, Madden couldn't take it anymore. He dug his hands into the turducken, ripping chunks off and eating them as the bemused crew laughed and asked him how it was. "I love it," Madden said between mouthfuls. "I absolutely love it."

Madden was dripping dressing and chunks of meat everywhere when Saints owner Tom Benson unexpectedly stuck his head into the booth. Madden knew Benson, but the two weren't close. Benson strode over to Madden and extended his hand, clearly unaware of the fork-manning that had been happening before he walked in.

Crew members' eyes bulged out of their heads as they saw Madden make the split-second decision whether to decline the handshake or go for it. Madden licked his three middle fingers, 1-2-3, and shook Benson's hand before Benson could pull it back. "That's the last time Tom Benson ever spoke to me," Madden said later.

So should we be rooting for rams or packers. It’s probably close. I’m rooting for the packers because I despise the rams but not sure if that’s correct for playoffs implications

Root for the Rams. Arizona controls the division leaving the Rams with a wild card even if they finish with the second best record in football.

Green Bay loses this one, they also lose the tiebreaker over us going forward.

I'm with you in hating the Rams so I'm wanting them to lose. It's probably better for the Packers to lose though in terms of standings.

The Rams aren't leading their division, so their win/loss record doesn't matter. If our goal is the #1 seed, the Pack has to lose.

Damn, looks like the Rams and Stafford may be wildly overrated. They only have one quality win(the Colts) and are on the verge of losing three straight.

Stafford also has three straight games with a pick 6

Rodgers will take over as league MVP after this game.

What? The win over the Buccaneers is not a quality win?

I'll say it again on him. If I'm Baltimore I'm not exactly jumping at a mega deal for him. Not yet. He can win games like no one else but those playoff losses sting like none else.

God I want him to succeed but tonight has been really bad

They’re lucky Cleveland’s offense has no juice tonight. Very sloppy game.

That's why you don't take it for granted. That team should be 2-9 with all of the injuries. Instead they are 8-3 & #1 in the AFC. And it's because of him. Once again his teams leading rusher.

Having Harbaugh doesn't hurt either. This was a game won in spite of Jackson's mistakes but I honestly think no one in the locker room honestly cares about anything but the fact they legged out an (almost) must win game because of how many potential consequences it had.

The Ravens offense is pretty awful outside of LJ this year due to the injuries at RB and the Oline.

The Ravens did build the offense around Lamar and running the ball so they are partially to blame with how they constructed their roster.

They aren't nearly the dominant rushing offense this year due to those injuries so we're seeing alot more of LJ passing the ball and less balance.

LJ still isn't a QB who you want dropping back 35 times per game throwing from the pocket.

If Baker Mayfield and the Browns offense wasn't so trash they would've won last night. LJ had 160yds passing and 4 INTs. That's not winning football most games.

This Ravens team looks like another 1 and done come the playoffs imo even though LJ is carrying them offensively. He just doesn't have enough help.

A little perspective here..

In the 5 years before LJ got to Baltimore plus the 9 games he didn't start his rookie year in 2018, the Ravens were 44-45 with 1 playoff appearance in 5 years.

Since LJ took over as starter, he isn37-10 and they haven't missed the playoffs. So as great of a head coach as John Harbaugh is, and he is one of the best, you could make a case that LJ saved his job in Baltimore and he owes a great deal of his success to Lamar.

I'm gonna tell you that what you're suggesting they do isn't going to happen. This isn't Jared Goff getting by on a stacked roster but holding them back. LJ is the Ravens offense right now and is the reason they've had so much success.

"But what about the Super Bowl" can't be the argument here. It disqualifies and criticizes nearly every major QB contract. Rodgers got one in 10 years ago and hasn't been back since. Does that give him a lifetime pass? Same with Russell Wilson, it's been 7 years for him.

LJ is the reason the Ravens are contenders every year. They aren't going to give that up and if they do sign me up!
