Which is why they’re doing it. The week before the superbowl.

They’re hoping it creates a stir. And it should. A .25 mile track, narrow…the world’s best drivers… it should be a wreckfest. I expect no lead changes but bumping and moving guys everywhere.

75% of the race will be caution-flagged. How many cars? Can't be 43. Not on a track that small.

They only do 40 on courses now anyway, but this is the Clash… usually only about 20-25 cars. And theyre the best of the best. Ex champions, etc.

Cool to see AJ Allmendinger winning in Xfinity but it begs the question of what's next for the Cup series regulars.

We've gone a couple years with guys making the jump pretty quickly. It took Truex how long to find success?

There isn't a big next Cup star in Xfinity other than Cindric... and he's already racing in the Cup Series.

I’m admittedly a Chase Elliott fan… Kevin Harvick has a legit gripe. 4 fresh tires at a short track should allow you to pull away not stay right with the leader and fuck up his line.

I haven't watched NASCAR since my driver retired. It's been a while.

My driver died when I was 10. I watch now for the thrill of racing. Admittedly it’s hard some weeks.

Adam Petty. The third generation of the Petty family. I had a severely handicapped(not sure what his diagnosis was) neighbor, and Adam supported autism and was adamant about funding it. Such poise in a young man.

Huge win for Bubba today.

He gets a huge burden off of his back. Now maybe he drives a little free-er.

Kyle Larson deserves the championship. He’s won 8 races this season and has been dominant.

The question is: Does the black community forgive him(or do they even know he exists?)

Harvick/Elliott’s feud is the best NASCAR can do. They should learn fans want to see the drama. Cars going around is fun. Cars with ulterior motives going around interacting with other cars with winning mindsets is good TV.

Richard Petty is 85 years old. Probably still wearing that silly hat.

You cannot mess with that hat and stache combo. I know you better than that.

I watch the St. Pete Grand Prix, but only because I drive those streets. I'm sure I could take them. Very sure of it. I know where the potholes are, random Italian dude!

That video is entertaining, and especially when you know that he knew, in the moment he went for it, that there was a gate opening in the wall about half way around. He was just hoping like hell that thing wouldn't hook him. That's pretty much a life or death decision he made, just to go for it.

For those who don't care to look up NASCAR stuff (all of you), here's the video. And because my dad is a big NASCAR fan, he told me alllllll about it. You have to downshift into 4th on that curve and take it at about 70 mph. This guy was just about to miss out on the playoff points, so he went up into 5th, floored it, and just intentionally rode the wall - letting it wreck his car - but taking the same curve at about 150. Just nuts.

If you don't want to suck it all up, go to the 9:30 minute mark to see the differential.

So a little bit of history was made at this year's Daytona 500 when Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. won the race.
‘It’s all worth it’: Brad Daugherty reflects on historic Daytona 500 triumph with Geschickters

Daugherty became the first Black primary team owner to win the Daytona 500, and co-owner Jodi Geschickter – who launched the team with her husband, Tad, as an Xfinity Series operation in 1995 – became just the second woman to claim victory in the “Great American Race” from the team-ownership side.

This was only the 3rd time the D500 was postponed and run on Monday. 2012 and 2020 were the other times. The race was shortened due to weather 4 times (1965, 1966, 2003, & 2009). It doesn't happen often, but it happens.
