I'm convinced, the Twitter post of Trask's wobbly pass was all a smokescreen.

Yep. A game winner is the most impressive kick he could make. Does the kid have the ice in his veins?

54 yarder.
I’m not gonna lie I didn’t know we got a new kicker.
Probably why he was doing so well. Until you came back.

Dumb to leave it to a 48 yarder with so much time on the clock

It’s preseason and they want the new kicker to have a chance at a game winner. That was the right decision.

I think it was intentional. We wanted to put that kicker under pressure and see what happened, and we did.

It sucks that we lost, but that was a solid evaluation opportunity.

Kyla Trask :D

If this is kid is the Bucs future we are good hands. This kid will be like Santa Claus 🧑‍🎄 handling gifts to Adeebo, Honey Badger and Lattimore.

Interesting notes from PFF:
QUARTERBACK.

Saturday's performance was quite easily the best we’ve seen Kyle Trask look in a Bucs uniform. Despite the interception, Trask wasn’t charged with a single turnover-worthy play. - Really? Interesting take by them.

Trask was making quick decisions with the football, as his average time to throw finished at an ultra-quick 2.35 seconds.

RUNNING BACK

Rachaad White looks like he’ll bring a level of dynamism the Bucs haven’t had at the running back position. On seven carries, he broke three tackles and gained 32 yards.

RECEIVERS

Tyler Johnson looked comfortably like the Bucs best receiver that played Saturday. He caught six of seven targets for 73 yards, but still had a dreaded drop.

UDFA Jerreth Sterns made some noise on only seven pass plays. He hauled in three passes for 31 yards including a score.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Second-rounder Luke Goedeke didn’t have the best debut. On 20 pass-blocking snaps, he allowed two pressures. - Hopefully he is better next week.

DEFENSIVE LINE

Second-rounder Logan Hall was shut out on the stat sheet as a pass-rusher in his debut, as he didn’t record a pressure on 18 pass-rushing snaps.
Anthony Nelson led the Bucs with two pressures, including a sack on the day. - Yikes and that was against backups and backup-backups.

LINEBACKER

Olakunle Fatukasi had a very impressive all-around day, recording four defensive stops while allowing only one first down on six targets in coverage. - I really hope he does well the rest of the preseason.

SECONDARY

There weren’t many stand-out performances, as the Bucs secondary didn’t register a single forced incompletion on the day. - Wow

The entire Bucs starting secondary didn’t play Saturday.

Too bad Stinnie doesn’t play for Miami. Hall would’ve had a banner day.

I'm Rachaad White's new biggest fan. He reminds me a bit of Rojo as a talented natural runner, but he can do the other things too. I hope he gets a little more meat on that frame though.

Logan Hall's story in Tampa will not depend on his ability to rush the passer. JMHO. He's the kind of player who will do his best work helping other guys get highlights.

Anthony Nelson's ascension is low-key one of the best stories on this roster. From late round pick/special teamer as a rookie to a steady reserve role the next year to 5 sacks his third year. And now, he's set to play a major role for the defense this season, and potentially make some real money for himself.

Sterns is earning himself a job. But will he get it? There's a whole thread about this, but it's something to watch. He could get squeezed out in the numbers game and turn into a find for someone else.
"So let's get to the point
Let's roll another joint
And let's head on down the road
There's somewhere I got to go..."
