It is interesting- watching his eyes (NLP) etc- he is likely just to be a methodical processor - they often look uninterested to others but instead are trying to choose their words carefully to not make a mistake.

I think Bowles WOULD like to eventually pass the torch but he does truly believe it's not a good time. This is a crucial time for this defense, it's really building out it's identity with cornerstone franchise players at all levels.

He had to be far more involved in NY. I think he knows he can really let Lefty run the offense with confidence. That frees him up to give the defense the attention it needs right now.
