Re: 2022 Training camp thread
We don't know about Hainsey, but he was a reasonably high pick. Shaq Mason is an All Pro caliber guard, Goedeke was a 2nd rounder, and Stinnie has played well in the past. This isn't like an expansion group. It's two young talents and a Pro Bowler. It's just not what it was the last couple of years.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 6:53 amColor me kind of worried. And regardless, we have, what, 5 or 6 Pro Bowl caliber starters on offense, including 2 on the OL? So maybe if Lefty is worth all those head coaching rumors, he should be able to work around a perceived weakness? We shouldn't need top talent at every single spot for our coordinators to be successful.

I'm pretty sure he signed an extension in 2021 that pushed his contract through the 2022 season.Deja Entendu wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 12:03 am Couldn’t Brady have signed there instead of Tampa in 2020?

I don't think Gio is a lock to make this team so this doesn't really help him much.

I like Gio, but yeah. He needs to be out there and perform. I can see us keeping 10 or 11 WR/TEs. 3 RBs is a sure thing IMO.King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 8:53 am I don't think Gio is a lock to make this team so this doesn't really help him much.

So how long until TC becomes a thing of the past?
Re: 2022 Training camp thread
Maybe they will look to see how those OLB rooks will play on the inside.
Re: 2022 Training camp thread
Not long, in my estimation.

Bowles just announced that Brady will not play in the first preseason game vs Miami. Not surprised. The guys who are starting should play as little as possible as the risk outweighs the reward.

They are going to spend most of the week practicing against another NFL team anyways. That’s pretty much just a preseason game without the crowd lol.Defense5599 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 12:17 pm Bowles just announced that Brady will not play in the first preseason game vs Miami. All I said was the game going to be a snooze.
. Especially Hall of Fame game
Re: 2022 Training camp thread
It's not uncommon for key starters to not play in a preseason game when they get to practice against that team during the week.
It's not like Brady needs preseason games at this point anyways tbh. Keep him in bubble wrap til week 1

I wouldn't be shocked if eventually joint practices replace games.

Re: 2022 Training camp thread
There were a fair number of coaches saying that last year. They like the joint practices because both teams can work on situational football which is what they prefer to do.King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 2:09 pm100% correctMiller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 12:20 pm

Players: "We want 0 preseason games, we'll just practice against other teams."
Owners: "GTFO, do you know how much money I make off of ticket sales to those preseason games?!?!? (Laughs in billionaire)
Re: 2022 Training camp thread
No team in Superbowl contention should be playing starters in the preseason at all honestly.
For top teams, preseason should be additional practice for depth.
Why would we even consider risking Brady at all? You think a meaningless scrimmage game is going to better the GOAT for the regular season?
Hell even a Josh Allen or Justin Herbert risks more playing in preseason than gained by doing so

Exactly and you can have interactive activities with fans as well like photo ops, autographs, games, etc. And it won't be just for 1 team, it'll be for 2. The NFL is smart enough to market this if they want to.Deja Entendu wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 3:34 pmMove some of the practices to the stadium and sell tickets and concessions.

just hit the thumbs down and keep scrolling, is the best advise I can give you.
Re: 2022 Training camp thread
You're not thinking about the "Season Ticket Holders" who pay for games, not practices. You gonna charge me $50 to watch a practice, something I currently pay $5 to watch (that is the ST member price to watch Bucs practices right now).King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 3:53 pmExactly and you can have interactive activities with fans as well like photo ops, autographs, games, etc. And it won't be just for 1 team, it'll be for 2. If they increase the regular season to 18/19 games like they want to, then you may be right. And IMO, it would be good for the fans who are season ticket holders because they have to buy tickets to those preseason games where they pay full price for the ticket but they see subpar quality footballKing Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 2:09 pm100% correctMiller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 12:20 pm

Not trying to be a turd, but Each game of my season tickets is a different price when you look at the invoice. I think Coach Bowles is one of those guys whose personality/humor sneaks up on you (I’m a fan).
When asked about Brady’s birthday, he was also told that Fournette got Tom a cake.
He quipped back and chuckled “him and Lenny will have a good time…”
Quality dig at Fat Lenny!
